If the issue is true for all routers and switches then extended trace isn't
the solution. I believe that Microsoft implements tracert differently from
the standard which Cisco uses. Next guess is that you have a firewall that

carrier. If you have 188 T-1s coming into the customer premise I believe the
piece of equipment you are looking for is called a multiplexer.

As I understand it, OSPF load-balancing handles 4-6
simultanious connections. Yet I hear rumors that
getting any more than 2 requires some creativity.

(unless you are trying to run it on a Lucent VPN router, in that case it
will probobaly catch on fire and burn the building down)

RIP v2 updates, how does it process those unused fields within v1, say
subnet mask. According to Jeff Volume I, it would ignore them but my RIP
v1 router does show up the network address as well as subnet mask,

as demo. When tried to integrate with call manager, I created 10 ports
on call manager and TSP. But when I checked unity status monitoring,

Most of us on this list started off knowing little or nothing. Hang in
there, pal. After a while it really does start to make sense. Nothing wrong
with asking questions. It's only wrong if you never learn anything as a
