I passed the BCMSN test, but you can look at the Cisco documentation for
what should be on the test. If you've taken any courses for the CCNP, or
look at the info from Cisco, you will probably see that ATM, and LANE in
specific, is a very small percentage of the material covered, if at all.
So
Well, I took the exam today, and there was not one question on
LANE, although cisco's response when I asked them was maybe yes
maybe no, well not in those exact words.
I guess the cost effectivness of ethernet over LANE has slowly
killed it off to the point that cisco won't cover
I would trust the cisco web site and go with what it says is featured on the
exam. From what I have seen, what it notes on the web site is accurate to
what is on the test.
I used 504 books to pass the 604 test, so I don't think too much changed.

We are considering new technologies that can substitute the layer 2
services provided by LANE.
Some of our clients have flat networks and use our LANE services acros a
WAN ATM backbone.
We are looking forward to change this layer 2 services to layer 3 services,
so we could avoid all problems
I'd appreciate if you can send me a copy of the same.

Hi,
I was just reviewing the Exam Blueprint for CCNP Switching 2.0 and I noticed
that it included Atm Lane. The BCMSN course doesn't cover LANE, and it's
also skipped by the Sybex and Coriolis Books. Can anyone tell me if the

If you mean the switching (BCMSN) exam, the only reference that i found for
LANE was in the trunking protocols... In the study guide, there is a table
mentioning the different protocols (isl, 802.1Q, 802.10 and, of course
LANE).
But i doubt one is supposed to know how LANE works.
