I, too, have the original (no number) Epson Stylus Color ESC/P2
printer.
Use the Epson Stylus Series CUPS or Foomatic drivers. I would prefer the
CUPS
amic addresses, which I cannot seem to resolve satisfactorily.
Wether I select
DHCP. DHCP-client, LAN, cable connection, the probelm still persists
with Nautilus.

Have you tried *disabling* the onboard video, and using a plug-in PCI or
AGP card instead? .. at least, I hope this helps to point you in the right

generic" and *not* "usb wheel". During "expert"
install, when told to test the mouse, the pointer *invariably*
loses itself in the _top right corner_ of the screen...

in the hosts file). Is there some way to "fix" this?

to linux, but I do choose "expert install" since it gives
me more control over what / how I install things, and IMHO,
