blaming your Blueray player for the fact that you have to find a way to
do something about that VCR collection you have.
For new music, I have a choice - buy the CD and rip it losslessly, or
buy it as a compromised MP3 source.

For a beginner: Yes.
If you are looking into lossless, the VortexBox may be the better

I have also had the DSBridge-dll running under Wine - but only for a
few secs. or maximum for one song (I did the same as omega12). Then it
pops up with a http-error, and the controller just writes buffering.
Anyone got a clue how to get this working with wine?

I just had to try it, and it works great!
- I copied DSound.dll and dsbridge.ini into Program Files/MediaMonkey
(lame_enc.dll was already there)
- started Mediamonkey
- started Squeecenter and tuned to http://_my_IP_:8124, pressed Play

Yes, the SB3 can pass a 48KHz signal via SPDIF.
Check your source files on your computer to see what frequency is
shown. It is possible that they are 44.1 KHz/ 24 bit

After you start playing the troublesome station, add that same station
again to your Playlist. Your Playlist is now two of the same station,
when one stream stops your player (SN) will start the next item in the
Playlist, which is the same station.

album artwork, even if ONLY PLAYLISTS is selected for rescan. I have
imported no album artwork and would prefer the rescan to NOT scan for

I use EAC and TagRename.
But I assume that most iPod/iPhone users are fairly happy with iTunes.
I use it with my iPod and its OK. So if someone who doesn't know
anything about computers or doesn't want the bother asked me, I'd
recommend using iTunes. Its not the best solution, but its good
