The easiest would be to browse to the artist you like to play and then
hit the play button. To play it in random order, just hit the shuffle

Either this is an error on national prices on the Logitech site or they

Maybe there might be differences between different file formats ? I'm
using FLAC format on all my music where it works.

It's a 6.5 specific function.
Try this:
1. Open Plugins/SQLPlayList/Plugin.pm in a text editor
2. Replace all occurrences of "rand()" with "random()" without the
quotes.
3. Restart SlimServer and try again
