I ordered a Palomar VLF converter a year ago from HRO and they had
to refund my money. They said that the VLF converter was no longer
being made. The Palomar Engineers web site seems to reflect this.

carry it up a "ships" ladder into my shack, which is in a loft. One
hand for the ladder and one for the K3. I do this several times a

The internal tuner is good and the external tuner is better and can be
used with other QRP rigs. Also, if you want to change filter boards
frequently, the internal tuner has to be removed to change the filter
boards. This doubles the work.

I would like to see a squeeze option that would give a steady tone when the
paddle contacts are both closed. This would restore keying control to the
operator. I normally use a bug or straight key but use paddles with the KX1
when portable. The bug is more than 5 times as heavy as the rig and do
