Others have given good answers, but there is an alternative:
SINGLE-row thread mills. These have the advantage that they
will mill a range of thread pitches with one cutter, and they

pyvnc2swf is a simpler program if you don't mind swf. I like this one.

Hi,
I installed from the Hardy Heron live emc disk. Have I mentioned I'm a
problem magnet? I had two important issues.
The first issue was that when loading any axis gui I ended up with a
hashed up screen which seemed to be the parts of the backplot screen
spreading over the bottom two thirds

Can you find a link to a manual or similar source that describes
definitively how G68 works? I found some examples, and people
asking questions about it, but none of them seemed like the full
story.
Thanks Everyone for the suggestions/ recommendations.

A top speed of 5mm/second means it will take 300 seconds (5 minutes) to
travel the width or length of your 1500mm table. That seems

Nope, tapping is still useful, these tools need space (try making a 2 mm
thread this way - the tool is larger).
But this is really useful, there are different tools. Threading mills like

No. ;-)
Reasons:
1) Thread milling works best on larger threads. A thread-mill has to
have room to orbit inside the hole - not a problem in a large hole, but
the smaller you get the more difficult it is.
I've seen those, or similar so to speak, for threading in a workshop we used
to hire. It's amazing to see them in action.

Setting the accel limit too _low_ will round corners. High accel =

For the different trajectory modes see:

If using only G64, many people report that the trajectory 'cuts-corners'
either too much (you get rounded off corners) or too little (contouring
programs run very slow).

Hi Clint
Fascinating. No EMC2 doesn't do that with a stock install or even a
simple config change. This seems to me to be more like angling the tool
rest on a wood lathe and then using your finger to hold the cutting end
of the tool at a fixed distance from the rest.
