I did use Tiger's X11 for quite a while under Leopard. Your success rate will probably depend on whether you are using intel or ppc. On my ppc machines I simply installed the xorg deb I had from fink on Tiger, then dropped in the quartzwm binary from Tiger's X11, as I had been doing on Tiger.
