beautifully. No complaints.
I did Max out the RAM, which might have hidden any flaws.

That oughta be funny. If my

Not sure which version to try, though. Hmmm.
Maybe I'll just go buy an old, used G3 PowerMac to try it all on.

By the appearance of the thunderstorm outside and the propensity for my
DSL to go down in severe lightning, maybe mother nature will stop me
Binary which included the new processor. Which means we'd all
have to buy that new version to have it work on all the supported
architectures.
No, I am fairly certain, at least for the immediate future, Apple with

I sure wish I knew why my CPU won't work with OS 9, though.
If anyone has had a similar experience, let me know. I am not sure if
the CPU upgrade is a NewerTech one or some other company (it IS a 466mhz
G3, that much I DO know).

PowerBook?
(It'll cost big, but ... well .. I guess I could sell her lovely Pismo.
*whimper* Or maybe just get her an Mac Mini and KVM, still quite a bit.)
The Pismo DOES at least have FireWire

FastMac seems to have a good G4 550 upgrade price which includes the
shipping et al, but would it maybe be better to just get the faster G3?
Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks for this link Laurent. One of the beauties of this list
That is actually another reason why I am leaning towards FastMac. If I
could find a price on a PowerLogix upgrade for the Pismo I would be more
sure, but the FastMac G4 550 seems to have a higher cache size and speed.
Of course, with the PowerLogix 900 I wouldn't have to purchase the iChat
hack
instead of WEP
encryption. I can not figure out if there are WPA setting options on
the card's software.
Has anyone else run across this problem?

, it would be ... ironic for her Pismo to be decked out with more
RAM than my brand new 1.2ghz iBook (at 748). And if I add the 40gig HD
hehe.
Oh, one other thing -- how do the size profiles of the Wallstreet and
Pismo compare?

Oh crap, now how am I going

run quite well.
How would a G4 500mhz Wallstreet compare?
Oh the curiousity.
