Just go to Tools/Location Database and download and install it again.
The file is about the size of the Installer file for the program, so,

I agree. I think it is a bug. It is applying the color change to the labels
(Birth-Baptism-Death-Burial-Cause) rather than to the data items.
Changing the background (top bottom) applies the color change to the correct
area and selecting the labels and changing their text color works

list of children, though, step-children are not listed. The stepchild is
already entered with both of his biological parents. In order to note that
he is the stepchild of his stepfather, do I have relink him again as a

I had 2 unlinked families in the same file. Recently I finally found proof they
were related so proceeded to the merge a husband and wife in family A, with the
equivalent couple in family B. I had not used the merge tool before and found
it a bit confusing. After several attempts, all of the
V.8 converted my v.7 .fdb file. Notes (general) were not converted. What's the
problem ?

was only making an observation from my experience. I do think it would
be well for John to run file maintenance, at least after the merge, if
he hasn't done so already.
