Thanks to Philip who tested the last patch. Using these results and the ones obtained earlier, I can now move the device detection to much later in the initialisation routine and I think I've come up with a more fool-proof detection routine too. Please revert all previous patches and apply thi

Ok, unfortunately, another person who tested the fix has pointed out that while it works when you load the module and then plug the device in, it fails if you plug the device in and load the module later. So we're going to need to fix this another way, which probably means doing the device det

Hi, Until kernel 2.6.11.10 I always enabled a mass storage module for my hp8200e usb cd-writer, and it always worked pretty nice. I updated to from kernel 2.6.11.10 to kernel 2.6.12 yesterday, and the module was no longer available. Could it be that the module has been obsoleted or something? I
