Hello fellow listers, This may sound a litlle silly but we are having a hard time maitaining label placement on point data. The table is constantly refreshed when opened because it is an ODBC table. Every time the table is refreshed we loose label placement. I understand why it happens. Does

Hi Mike Its a quick response, not thought through properly but why accept null dates in your database? Could you allow a "formatable" date like Microsoft's 1/1/80 to mean "null" . Then update your databases "once and for all" to these values. Any programs adding data would need to enforce this rul

Hi Mike, MIPro doesn't support null dates afaik. A retrieved null date results in a bogus date of "Dec 31,1899", "Jan 1,1900" or "Jan 1,1970", I forget which. If you're using MS/SQL, you can utilize its isnull() function in your query, and set a specific date in case of a null value, e.g. is

MI-L labels in MI vs. ArcView

I don't want to start a whole new MI v. ESRI thing, but one point I really liked about ESRI was the labels on maps. Specifically, it was the road or stream labels and the way they followed the curve of the line. I am using MI 7.5, and the labeling on detailed maps with roads just looks amateurish.
