I agree with Sue. "No frills" doesn't mean "no fun". A lot of us get
quite a bit of enjoyment from the List, sometimes controversy
notwithstanding. This is a good group with a lot of knowledge, and most
of the time, a good sense of humor.

Like others have said, this hobby will go on, especially since so many
of us have collected items we cherish but which have only a very modest
commercial value. As our hobby matures, it is probably inevitable that
some type of fraud would be attempted at some point in time.

$2800 for a 10 foot booth in the convention center and
this is for a vendor. That was for a 3 1/2 day exhibit. I find the
$1600 amount to be a lot of money for an individual exhibitor.
My 2 cents for what it's worth.

lobby card, period. My lobby
cards are all "dingy yellow and dirty looking". It's probably because
they are more modest titles. I have seen some cards in great shape, but
never "minty white".
Is it safe to say that some of you have cards that look this good and
are original..
Calling this list a bunch of BS...very very narrow minded. There are an
awful lot of nice honest people on this list who provide some very
stimulating thought and the occasional wonderful humor from freeman
fisherpriceless...

I think some of the reasons stated to explain the lesser interest in
collecting are very valid (obsolesence at 3 years, trust in "data",
electronics as collectibles) but I wonder if there isn't
anotheraffluence leading to instant gratification.
Many kids (and I daresay probably my own as well)
Frankly, MOPO represents all that is good about poster collecting, but
also what is bad about it.
Am I the only one who is getting sick of these rehashings of old
insults, so-called injustices and petty arguments ad nauseum?
I am sobered by the number of folks who are losing their livelihood
thes
es, but how it treats its customers. This hobby is largely a word
of mouth one and I would think every restorer would appreciate that.
Now, as always, the consumer has a choice.
