Sounds like you have some basic problems with the setup of the CDROM -
probably as a result of supermount. Here is an example of me mounting a
CD with supermount switched off:

Solved it myself:
Just in case someone has similar problems here is the solution.
It was OpenOffice itself that was the problem. It could display any Truetype
font but could not print them correctly.
I think my mistake was in using ./spadmin to import my TT fonts into
OpenOffice before using
Is anyone else having problems with OO641D and Mdk 8.1. The first time I
start OO after logging into the system everying works fine, but if I
close OO and then start it again it crashes as soon as the empty
document first shows.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
