and an extra 4GB. It is an old machine (about five or six years old) and
the video card is unknown. I was thinking this may be the problem (the
video card) but then why shold the CD and hard drive stop?

I'd suggest trying startx (no quotes). That should load your default GUI.

I am running Drake 7.2 and I am receiving this error when I try to run

I believe that Windows can't see an ext2 partition, but a Linux partions can
see the Windows partition. I have the same issue with OS/2 and Linux, so I

If you are running boot magic you may have to go into the config section of
that through windows and make sure that your windows partition is not hidden
from anything else. I am running 98 and that worked for me.
