I want to get my digital vcr working again but I am stumped on where to go
next for troubleshooting. It all went wrong since I left Mdk 9.0 and did a
fresh install of Mdk 9.2. I previously had a whole load of scripts I could
just call up via cron to record various programs from my tv card.

I'm trying to get xawtv running here.
Output tells me:
This is xawtv-3.88, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.21-0.26mdk)
can't open /dev/v4l/video0: No such file or directory
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
v4l2: open /dev/v4l/video0: No such file or directory
v4l2: open
OK, so I have installed my TV card and Mandrake 9.1 recognises it, and
configures it. I go to run xawtv and receive the following message
Xlib: extension XFree86-DRI missing on display :0.0
The issue being it looks like it isn't picking any channels up.
So any ideas
Thanx

I am only getting mono sound when watching TV in xawtv even though the

Stereo sound plays mp3's fine using xmms.
Can anyone suggest where I should start my investigations please?
