Just got back from the Grandfather Mountain Camera Clinic after a very enjoyable
weekend. Had an excellent breakfast first thing on Saturday, courtesy of Bill
and Phyllis Owens and met the redoubtable Mike Johnston. Met a couple of other

Medium format is the most popular format for landscape photography on a global basis.
This is the market Pentax is catering for. The studio market is crowded and Pentax
have never shown much interest in it.

I finally got my fireworks photos developed. The compositions are
nothing to write home about, but the settings suggested by some of you
turned out to be spot-on, so thanks for the help! I ended up with a roll
of passable fireworks photos, which I will post at some point.

Pentax is weak/non-existent is some segments
(PJ, DSLR) but strong in others like field Medium Format. (Mamiya rules studios &
'Blad rules weddings, Bronica is spotty.)

Yeah. When I looked at the 645N and the 67 at PDML UK, I thought the 67
would be a tad fiddly to change films in the field at times and under
certain conditions, but having a couple of preloaded inserts for the 645
would be fine to get around that.

The 28-80 AL version is only available in USA. It is not listed in Europa.
It is a rebadged Tamrom Zoom. Look a B&H spec infos and you will see that
are the same lenses.

This is a new fast very compact Pentax lens. It has the size of the FA
4/28-70 and
has less distortion at 28mm as the 28-70. Also the build quality is a bit
better.

The Bogen people are great. I bought a used Gossen Multi-Pro meter from
Adorama and it came without a manual. I called Bogen and they told me they'd
send me a new one for $2.00. I sent them the two bucks and I had the manual
in the mail two days later. I suggest that you give them a call.
I just bought a Pentax Super A (same as the Super
Program in the US except that it is an all black
body). The black finish is quite worn at the edges
near the bottom and at a small spot near the top. Is
it possible to touch up the body with black paint?

Looking at the bottom of the camera, I see that there
are three screws (actually, there is another one at
the center of the winder coupler). Does the bottom
plate come off when these three screws are removed?
Anything I need to watch out for?
