Of course the DA14 us faster but another little difference (might be
critical for some I dunno) is the that when the AF focus the DA14, the
focussing ring does NOT move (just like DFAs).

higher resolution at f4 and f5.6. In fact,the 12-24 at its optimum aperture
shows higher resolution than the 14/2.8 at its optimum . Although with both
lenses at f8, the DA14 shows a bit of an advantage.

I can see (I'm an electrical novice) the flash was registering about
8.2 with a high of about 8.6 on a recycle.

Just measure the 285HV trigger voltage to ensure safety. It's easy:
- off camera, power up the flash unit
- use a Volt-Ohm-Meter (VOM), set it to DC Volts, auto or high scale
- measure voltage between side and center terminal on the flash foot
If you see greater than 10V (positive or negativ
Pentax Imaging will have limited resources because Hoya isn't a camera
manufacture. Most of Hoya's products are commodities, (Pentax can't
compete effectively in the commodity camera market segment, that's why
they cut back on P&S), and they want to strengthen high return
manufactured goods, l
Who knows? I expect we'll at least see a 1.3 crop sensor at some point.
Eventually, we'll see whatever the market can support. It's all about supply,
demand and profitability. Things will sort themselves out.
