I am setting up four Macs (Quad 800, Quad 840AV, 8600/250, 8600/300) to
use a common monitor (Gateway 19) and a ADB keyboard mouse. I have a
switch box, purchased from the Swap-List of course, that will handle
the inputs from the four computers. The question is about when you can
use the
Hi - my experience is that you can change units while they are running.
But, it's always been necessary to have the switch set to the machine
which is booting up, so that it'll detect the monitor. After any and all
of them are up and running, you ought to be able to change units at will.

Anyone have a demo they can direct me to or send as an attachment?
Yes, I will buy it later if it meets my needs. Using a Quadra 840av
running OS 8.1.

Some time back somebody offhandedly mentioned that they had some kind of

Any suggestions?

Well, I'm in the boonies of southeastern wisconsin, so
here we go:
Assuming you get a connection that doesn't require
PPPoE, it'll just work. There is probably a PPPoE app
for MacOS pre-X, but PPPoE tends to add CPU overhead,
and you won't have much to spare on that old girl.
SBC=bad ( PPPoE ),
I live in Appleton WI. SBC does offer a service for 5 more dollars a
month that allows multiple connections instead of one, and allows you
to use a router for PPPoE. If you buy a Linksys router, you can set it
up to work with PPPoE so that there is not the CPU overhead on your
computer, but on

Yes, the first version of Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager worked on 68k
Macs.
But that version of Palm Desktop AFAIK wasn't based on Claris Organizer. It
loks like an ugly port of the early windows program.
What I'm looking for is other (better) PIMs that can hotsync with the palm.

Actually you are posting to the lists. PCI and Quad, Let me know if you
receive this.
Hi,
this is not directly a Quadra-related question, but I think it fits here
somehow:
There is an older Palm Desktop application and Hotsync Manager for 68k, but
the desktop application is not really adequate as a PIM. As far as I know,
