Hi, all.
In a Basic procedure i'm building an n-line array in which the first
element of each line is a five-digit string.
Is there a way to sort the array on that five-digit string ? Couldn't
find anything helpful in the manual.

you want to sort, do NOT click on column W. Instead, click on the Data
menu, then click Sort. A window should open up with two tabs on it, with
the Sort Criteria tab showing. From the first Sort By drop down l

I finally decided to install the new version on the present system.
Downloaded the tar file with the .deb's in it and unpacked them.
Then removed all of the OpenOffice bits currently installed.
Then I entered:
apt-get install *.deb in the DEBS subdirectory.

on the second field before the first. By turning off the sort, then
clicking on the 'visible' box it turns off, then you can turn the

data in columns A to I with the original numbers in K to L
I have used Excel to do this before without any problems but can't get Calc
to do it.
