My guess is that X2GoClient is trying to connect to XQuartz via that
name, so if there's no entry for it, it can't find the local X server
you need to have running on the client (which, in th

of TCE-Live? TCE-Classic being finicky to set up (and maintain) more
often than not is what led me to create TCE-Live in the first place.

That was indeed my plan, but the tool I had in mind for this doesn't
work properly inside an X2Go session. :( I just tried it out, but it
seems the Ctrl+Alt+F sequence needs to be sent on the client itself, not
inside the session window, so having the tool send it doesn't work. :(

might be worth a try. But even if you hire a third-party developer
outside of X2Go's core dev team: As stated above, we will accept patches

And we don't know if a server uses 2FA or not until after we've provided
a username and password to it, so there's no way of determining whether
or not we should present a field for the 2FA code on the login scree

our X2Go-Xfce session at work, you need to pick a
different desktop environment (a minimalistic Openbox with X2GoClient
will suffice, maybe throw in tint2 as a task bar if you really need one)
- because running the same Desktop Environment twice, under the same
user account, may cause issues.
