Shes prepared to risk experimental treatment in Holland, which uses stem cells. Ill be talking to the countrys leading experts in this research to ask why this treatment isnt available here. More on this story in detail tonight.
Also tonight, after losing almost twenty-five stones in just nineteen weeks, Hulls champion fat-buster, Aaron Howlett, is facing a new challenge. Hes a real inspiration to so many people battling with their weight. Hes now training for the London Marathon this Sunday. Find out how hes been getting fit on tonights programme at half past six. And did you queue for your tickets for Bon Jovi, who are performing in Hull in June? Well, Ill be meeting one woman, who waited eleven hours to get hers! Can you believe that? I agree with the writer about TV soaps and other programmes being spoilt by the media by showing you clips of whats going on. I was really disappointed with the Mike Baldwin story line. We had it all printed in the newspapers and we were getting ready to have a good week, so it was completely spoiled. Arent I sad? Not at all Chris! But thank you very much indeed for that email. Scientology After I was talking about scientology, several people have emailed in to say that you all think its a bit barmy. And of course, Tom Cruise and his fiancée, Katie Holmes, last night celebrated the birth of their daughter, Suri. The couple announced that the baby will be baptised into the church of Scientology. And as one Levy Letter reader has pointed out, what will they sing when the baby has a little bit more hair? of course itll be Suri With A Fringe On Top! Greasy Spoon One of Britains greatest institutions, the Greasy Spoon, could disappear from our High Streets within four years, its been claimed. Fry ups and mugs of builders tea are under threat from the skinny latte and paninis with the soaring number of trendy continental style coffee shops springing up in our towns. 40% of independent cafés have either been swallowed up or closed down in the last six years due to the spread of chains of well-known coffee companies. So now, there is going to be a campaign to save the Greasy Spoon. Apparently, there is every chance that in a few years time, there will be no ordinary Greasy Spoon cafés. Im sure thatll be a great shame. The Queen Her Majesty, the Queen, celebrates her 80th birthday today. Of course, there have been plenty of stories, pictures and publicity about the Royal Family over the last week. And I have to say that Ive felt, on some of the stuff, absolutely fascinated by it all, especially with the two programmes that Andrew Marrs has done on the last couple of Sunday evenings. Ive enjoyed looking at pictures as well in her early days of her reign. I think it must be something about being older, because when I was younger I wasnt so fascinated by the monarchy. Yesterday, the Queen had a visit to the BBC to meet some of the stars of the BBC and also some of the people, who work behind the scenes. Today of course, is her official birthday. To celebrate the fact, the BBC Open Centre here in Hull has a big, special party from one oclock. You can come along and bring a picnic if you want. Just turn up. Were especially keen to welcome those of you, who are eighty this year, but come along to the! Open Centre from 1pm! Just a reminder as well, that BBC Radio Lincolnshire has a special charity auction as well on Saturday morning. Tune in to BBC Radio Lincolnshire. Theyve got allsorts and lots of things on offer, including tickets on the centre court at Wimbledon. In fact, I wont go through the list, because its too long. But the funniest thing is the trip to the BBC to watch Look North go out and then dinner with Peter and Paul afterwards! If youre interested, then tune in to BBC Radio Lincolnshire from first thing on Saturday morning. OCD Theres been a couple of stories in the papers just recently on the subject of OCD. Thats obsessive compulsive disorder. Theres another one today. If anyone reading this has got OCD, or knows someone, who suffers from OCD to quite a severe degree, then I would be most grateful if you would be prepared to talk to me.
