A beta is a program that someone does find acceptable for release but wants to get more information from the installed base if it really is. Re: Version 4
Hi Roelof, R It was the reason why I set up daily autobackup - but it stopped R working here R Would like to have it even more frequent, ex: every 12 hours. In that case. Create a schedule by yourself in TB's scheduler and set that to create backups with your own specified interval. That's what I'm doing, though I did that initially to use my own names for the backup files. Thank you. Will give it a try :) -- Best Regards, RS (FEDARA) The Bat! 4.2.44.2 Windows 7 x64 Professional (7601 Service Pack 1) Tuesday, June 7, 2011 (11:19 ; GMT+8) Current beta is 5.0.12.13 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Version 4
Hi Joe, So, I am back to 4 for production, still using 5 for beta testing and waiting patiently to see my bugs fixed, however, if past history ( read the threads about all the IMAP issues) is any indication, maybe we will have to wait for v6 after we pay for the upgrade to get basic v5 functionally. Hope it's going to be fixed prior to v6 :) If not, it would be a shortest licence I've purchased :) What I don't understand... Can anyone answer this... I check the official TheBat list and I do not see that much activity. Does that mean that no one new has purchased TheBat??? It was how I got to TBBETA ; after finding out the problem with characters coding I got a feedback to report it to TBBETA and I've ended here :) Does it mean that the new users don't know that it is seriously broken? Does it mean that we, beta testers, are the only users... I didn't know it's broken (or didn't spotted it in a first week). I was having a check on it for about a week ; worked fine as I expected basing on my previous experience so I purchased a licence. Problems started when I tried use it heavily :) Anyway, still giving it a chance due to mentioned before 3.99 version experience :) -- Best Regards, RS (FEDARA) The Bat! 4.2.44.2 Windows 7 x64 Professional (7601 Service Pack 1) Tuesday, June 7, 2011 (11:21 ; GMT+8) Current beta is 5.0.12.13 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Version 4
Hi All, Thank you all for your comments and hints. The reason why I want to move back to 4.22 is that for last month I spent part of my work time dealing with issues while I should be working. It causes delays while replying, lost some e-mails after importing and I can't afford it anymore. So for daily/work use I move back to 4.22 till v5 is ready :) And it was a main reason of asking the question. Why on TBBETA? Because you are the people that knows TB! more than anyone else :) Same as many of you, I'm going to setup v5 on the second computer for testing :) Once again, thank you for your support and opinions. I hope that we can consider the thread closed now :) Have a good day everyone :) -- Best Regards, RS (FEDARA) The Bat! 4.2.44.2 Windows 7 x64 Professional (7601 Service Pack 1) Tuesday, June 7, 2011 (11:38 ; GMT+8) Current beta is 5.0.12.13 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Version 4
Hi, Is version 4.22 working properly as it should? Is it possible to import v4 database/filters and all the stuff to v5 after it's fixed? Is it possible to export v5 (current one I spent lots of time on setting filters and sorting e-mails) to TB! v4.22? And question to developers: Can I use the key I have purchased for v5 with v4 and use it with v4 till the moment when v5 starts working properly so I do not have to fight with it every day..? Even official 5.0.12 release gives me exceptions and access violations daily ; autobackup stopped working ; only part of messages in VF are shown ; number of messages is not correct (=0 instead of 91/85/126/11) ; annoying popup to enter a password to an account that is set to be not checked ; and so on. Just found out that can't mark messages shown in VF (showing new messages) as read because the number of new messages is 0. Had to close TB! so Not Read count was proper and after that I was able to use CTRL+M. Correct count was shown for about 25 seconds ; after that all VF were equal to 0. -- Best Regards, RS (FEDARA) The Bat! 5.0.12 Windows 7 x64 Professional (7601 Service Pack 1) Sunday, June 5, 2011 (20:51 ; GMT+8) Current beta is 5.0.12.12 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

version 4, unread tab and IMAP
The 'unread' tab is not going to be very helpful to IMAP users until TB! learns to count. I had a folder which showed one unread message, but no unread tab until after I shifted focus to that folder. I also had unread messages in another folder which was not highlignted, didn't show unread messages or show up on the unread tab. -- Dwight A.
