I just installed the packages from cooker, and I don't get even get kicker.
When I launch apps, for example netscape, the app launches, but there is no
window around it, and the app can't be moved across the desktop.

Internet connection sharing? You didn't mention if that was enabled...Mine runs
fine. You should have an icon in the tray for it if it is running.
I used static addresses 192.168.0.x for the NIC's that connect to the
hub. Don't try to connect the ethernet cable from the modem directly to the
hub.

seen a way of doing that as yet. I've gotten it working with Pine, but
that because there is a script that will interface with Pine and PGP.

You can do the same kind of filtering and still use Pine. I'm doing so
now. I have messages from the expert list going into their own folder and
messages from the newbie list to their own folder and so on and so forth
for all my mail. I send junk mail to /dev/null. That's the "bit bucket" as

missing from whereever they're supposed to be.

Have a look at whats on the same mountpoint as your /temp directory
As far as I know, in MDK 7.1 theres nothing that you need to keep in /temp
(MDK 7.0 was a different story),
I fixed a similar problem because /var was on the same mountpoint and I
could clear a few spoolfiles and logs

There is a test button on the server box that prints out all sorts of
good stuff about the status and IP number.
I found my problem by the following command.
/sbin/route add -host 192.0.0.192 eth0
Then everything went fine.
