Im trying to get dvd playback on my ibook 500 with a cdrw/dvd-rom pulled from my BW before trade and placed in Sony iLink case. It burnes just fine just burnt a cd but I cant get it to play back dvd's...I assumed I could use the patched 2.7 player set-up but Im having no luck... any ideas?

Depends if your G3/800 is an upgraded PPC or a Beige or a BW ...all three have dif bus speeds 46(50)/66/100 respectively. (a G3 upgrade usually decreases the bus speed a little in a PPC, in my 9600/umax600 experiences) A PPC w/G3 800 and a PCI video card I dont think will compete that well
