What a bummmer! I moved my vacation dates to India to be able to attend this
concert. :(

Thank God, AR and team is fine. Inshallah, it will happen when it's supposed
to happen.

If you really like Winamp and want to stick to it, then get yourself Winamp 5
or higher... I believe it has a 3 option toggle for Repeat button:
1st click - repeat all
2nd click - repeat one
3rd click - repeat off

Also, you can select a song and press 'Q' to queue songs from the playlist..
this will play song in the order you like.

We had our best bet with Khwaja Ji last year, which I thought Rahman truly

2009-12-11 Thread kaissiom

Wait, I thought it was Subhash Ghai who had come with the "Jai Ho" hook for
Yuvraaj(may be for Shano), but it wasn't used for Yuvraaj. And then Rahman
used it for Slumdog and even gave credit to Subhash Ghai for the two words "Jai
Ho". This was all in Rahman interviews, post Oscars. If this Subash Ghai
involvement is true then it makes sense for Gulzar sahab to not take credit for
"Jai Ho", but for the rest of the song lyrics. Credit where it belongs...

[arr] Just watched Couples Retreat!

2009-10-10 Thread kaissiom
So, I went to the local theatres at the earliest convenience to catch this
flick.

The movie: It's okay, I had a few good laughs, but nothing great. The content
is for mature audience really. I'm surprised this movie is PG-13, it should
really be R.

The music: Well, given that this is a comedy movie, the music should not be
taken too seriously. Music in these comedy movies just plays in the
background, without getting too involved in the movie. And that is exactly the
treatment it's received here. Although, Rahman's tracks have been used
throughout the movie, the movie contains various other tracks not featured on
the Soundtrack.

The good:
-Rahman's first Hollywood venture :)
-Music used at some prominent places

The bad:
-Rahman's music is not the only music in the movie
-Movie doesn't start with Rahman's music
-Sajna, the song, is not featured in the movie, although, the theme can be heard
-Kurukuru is not featured in the movie, bits can be heard here and there
-Nana is featured in the movie, and also for the end credits

Sure, from above, you can see that there's more bad than good, but I'm not
disappointed. I'm glad I'm finally able to walk into any records store here in
LA and pick up a soundtrack by Rahman and that I can hear Rahman's music in a
Hollywood movie.

Looking forward to more Hollywood ventures and some amazing soundtracks by
Rahman in the future!

Regards,
Wasim

Re: [arr] any 'Audiophiles' on this group?

2009-10-02 Thread kaissiom
Great info WB,

And if I may add my 2 cents:

Don't ever buy those MonsterCables - it's a scam!

I have been collecting quality headphones/audio equipment, and from my
personal experience I can say that in my opinion Bose is overrated. I
have couple of Bose headphones (+ Bose HomeTheater) and they are great
at reproducing bass, but they really compromise in reproducing mids &
highs. So, if I really want to emphasize on bass, I listen to it on
Bose, but my $70 Aiwa HP-AK100, which I have for regular use,
outperforms Bose in other areas.

I also prefer Sennheiser over Bose. Just the fact that Bose doesn't
even disclose their frequency ranges/specification is really
frustrating because you can't compare Bose with other headphones based
on specs.

But it really comes down to personal preference and your "ear for
detail".

If you are really in the market to buy Bose headphones, I recommend
you consider these as well:

1. Bang & Olufson A8 earphones:
http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=46

2. Sennheiser HD 595:

http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_eng.nsf/root/05343

3. Etymotic ER.4:
http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er4.aspx

And if you can shell out more money for the headphones...then these:

1. Shure E500:
http://www.shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Earphones/SEModels/us_pa_se5\
30_conte\
nt

2. Denon AH-D5000:
http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3456.asp

Also remember, if the source is not high quality, these headphones won't
help much.

Regards

costs 2500 rupees, an absolute stunner.

Farce. Just take any 850RMS above home theatre with auto/manual
calibration. Use manual calibration for rear right and rear left and
notch it by say 1.5 dB. treble sounds crispper then. Works for ALL
RAHMAN DISCS.
> Don't go by the size of the woofer. As long as its in a wooden box its
fine. However, don't ever push the woofer into a corner of the room. It
booms and the bass reproduction is wrong. You are looking for a rumble
not windows rattling. Move your woofer about half feet away from walls.
Test it by playing Maula Maula track from Delhi 6 ( a suble bass line
that sounds so great!!)

HiFI or a mini HiFi, try and locate one with a manual EQ. This feature

different level. However, i found HD 595 Senheisser the awesomest one!
Bose also works, but dont pay that much seriously. MP3 is MP3, you wont
get some magic extra sounds and most of today's bollywood music is
compressed and fedility is missing ( this included BLUE also, sorry ...).

C'mon guys, (Afro Nisha) is not a singer! It's really funny to read all the
comments about the voice being 'suspiciously' similar to Rahman. Well, that's
because it is Rahman.

I don't think Afro Nisha is even a person. If anything, it could be the
English title of the Tamil 'Kurukuru Kan' or it could even be a new genre.

I can only say one thing for sure, the singer in 'Kurukuru Kan(Afro Nisha)' is
Rahman.

[arr] Re: "Produced" by - What does it mean

2009-09-26 Thread kaissiom
A music producer can do anything from making coffee to just sitting back and
listening. That sounds like an easy job, and it can be. When you have a great
recording engineer doing the recording, and great artists and musicians around
you creating great music a producer's job becomes very easy. But when you are
on a budget with very limit studio time, a busy schedule, a singer that keeps
messing up the vocal track because he/she is nervous, the drummer that can't
get the groove right, a recording engineer who can't get the computer to record
the next track your job as a producer becomes a lot more challenging. And this
is what being a good producer is being about. At these moments a producer needs
to be a problem solver and make decisions. Every producer does it differently,
but the result is the same, a recorded and well produced song.

To be able to make it work a producer may have to get involved with the
technical stuff and help the recording engineer out. Or you may have to get the
singer to make the vocal track work with the song by changing the lyrics,
changing the melody or give some vocal pointers. It may also involve rewriting
part of the music by changing chords, adding samples and sound effects and
creating a complete new drum rhythm from scratch. And there are a lot of other
situations where a good producer needs to take charge and show why he (or she)
is the producer.

Being a producer can involve

Getting into the music (music theory)
Getting into the songwriting process and learning about songwriting and
sequencing
Knowing some things about recording
Being able to work with musicians and artist and get the best out of them
Working with a recording engineer and other studio owners
Using sound effects, samples and other techniques to make song sound different
and unique
Mixing and editing the song
Mastering the song

In today's music the producer is usually also a songwriter, a musician and
recording engineer. This makes the job both easier and more difficult.

[arr] Re: Congratulations to AR - Unveiling the soundtrack of Couples Retreat

2009-09-25 Thread kaissiom
Hearty Congratulations to AR for the first mainstream Hollywood
soundtrack. If there is one thing constant in my life, it's the pure
unexpectedly experimental, intellectually soul stirring, addictive,
quality music you deliver with every release.

I have been awe-struck and surprised time and again with your new
releases. I have seen you conquer the hearts of first hundreds, then
thousands, then millions and then the hearts of at least a billion
people of India. I will not be surprised if you go on and conquer the
hearts of the people in rest of the World.

I'm very fortunate to not only live in the same era as you but to be
born in the same country as you and then being exposed to your
universally appealing music at very young age and then becoming your
lifelong fan.

Always dearly cherishing what you have produced and looking forward to
what you have in store for us next.

May Allah bless you like He always has.

[arr] Re: 'Blue' Sound/Audio Quality - "Dissapointed"

2009-09-10 Thread kaissiom
I don't know about you guys but I'm hearing a low clicking sound throughout the
album. I do not have the original CD yet (it hasn't crossed the BLUE oceans to
the States side yet). But the mp3's I have are of 320k quality, the sound is
loud and vibrant. But before I could comment on the sound, I can't help but
notice the clicking sound in the songs. The instruments are drowning the
clicking, but it's there. Anybody else have this experience?

I really really hope it's the ripper induced sound. I'm going to be really
disappointed if it's there in the original CD.

Yeah, truly, absolute brilliance. And I was thinking the same thing, the
ending is like that of Rehna Tu - out of the world. The female voice enhances
the song to another level. It's one of those songs I never bothered to look up
the translations for. The music is so divine and captivating that I didn't
feel I needed anything more to song.

[arr] Just coming from the Jay Leno Show

2009-02-19 Thread kaissiom
So I ran to the NBC studios early this morning and was grab a couple
of tickets for the Tonight Show.

Even though I live 2 minutes away from these studios, I have never
been to any show. So, it was my first time and it was a great
experience. Jay Leno was great, he did the whole show live(no edits).
However, I'm disappointed that Rahman only came towards the end of
the show and only performed music from SDM.

I was expecting him to be interviewed or something. But alas, not a
single word from Rahman. Most of the show was just Jay Leno and
comedian/radio host Dennis Miller. Frieda Pinto and ARR were probably
there for the last 15 minutes. If you are planning to watch the show
just for Rahman, tune into the very end portion.

Frieda was cute, with her British accent and funny incidents from
childhood and her crush on Leonardo DiCaprio.

And finally, it was Rahman's performance - the last 5 mintues.

They had decorated the stage with colorful "Indian" theme. A small
group of American musicians and singers joined Rahman as he played the
piano on Stage. They started with Latika's theme and then switched to
Jai Ho. Rahman sang some parts of it, but it was mostly sung by an
American girl. They also had some colorfully dressed dancers perform
to Jai Ho. And that was it.

It was a good experience, but I wish there was more of Rahman.

Regards,
Wasim.

[arr] Swades BGM in Slumdog Millionaire?

2008-11-21 Thread kaissiom
Did anybody notice the Swades BGM as the cell phone ring tone in
Slumdog Millionaire?

Re: [arr] JAI HO! - Just watched Slumdog Millionaire

2008-11-04 Thread kaissiom
The cheering or clapping from audience does not equate to them being
fans. When you go watch a performance or a show and you enjoy it, you
express your appreciation by cheering/clapping for whoever the artist
or the performer is, regardless of whether you know them or not.

I never said they are Rahman fans, they enjoyed the entire movie; the
direction, the acting, the music..etc. Music was an essential
component of this movie. When they showed "Original Music Composed by
A.R. Rahman"... people cheered and clapped... to express they like the
music.. whoever had made it. I'm sure many of them had not heard of
that name before, nevertheless they appreciated the movie/music and
hence cheered and clapped for the composer.

You are right, Americans are not used to or don't appreciate much
music in their movies... they call them musicals. But this is an
Indian movie, and Indian movies here are infamous for being "all
musical" with dance sequences involving hundreds of people. So, the
music in this Indian movie is expected. In fact, the Jai Ho song is a
pun or a stereotypical joke intended to make people laugh.. because
the entire movie goes without any song-dance sequence and THEN at the
very end when the movie is done.. "The End" the actors start sing and
dancing.. the whole theater started laughing, including me.. so
stereotypical of a Bollywood movie.. that's why people stay and watch
the end credits and then cheer and clap for the composer - Go Rahman!

FYI: M.I.A is a Sri Lankan artist brought up in U.K. I like her
music; she uses some wicked Afro-Indian rhythms and beats, although
most of her lyrics are gibberish. Check out her "Galang" and "Bucky
Done Gun", those are my favorite.

Hi guys,

Just coming from the pre-screening of Slumdog Millionaire. It's a
great movie, very different... very realistic. I would recommend
everyone to watch it. I was lucky enough to get two seats for the

we barely saw any Indians... It was an all American audience. The
direction and storytelling is awesome, along with some brilliant
acting. Now coming to the BGM... Rahman has given an excellent score
for the movie.

The background music really compliments the movie well. M.I.A was
featured at least a couple or more times throughout the movie. There
are many fantastic BGM pieces used throughout the movie apart from
what is played in the trailers. The romantic piece played on Jamal
and Latika is simply awesome, it's a female voice humming.. I couldn't
figure out who. I had a big wrestler type dude crying next to me
during one of these scenes. The music was truly moving and added a lot
of emotions to the scenes.

Regarding what the reviewers and critics had said about the ending...
it's true.. about 97% of people stayed glued to their seats as the End
credits started rolling.. with the Jai Ho song by Sukhwinder and some
dance sequence with a huge crowd.

The song... well, I was not too impressed by it... it's an average
song by Rahman standard but not very good or best.. may be because I
was hearing it the first time? But hey, the people seemed to love it.

And when they showed Music composed by A.R. Rahman towards the end...
people cheered and clapped! Well, that made my day. We can expect
more high profile international projects from Rahman, thanks to this
movie. Let's hope it bags the Oscars for music.

Go watch the movie and let's hope Fox Searchlight decides to release
the soundtrack of the movie.

Would be a dream come true. Gops/Vijay please let Rahman know about
our passion for his BGMs. He may be able to convince producers or
whoever the stakeholders are to release BGM CDs as well. May be not
for the older ones, but at least BGM CDs for the future releases would
be a great offering. Rahman is definitely a trendsetter, please
request him to release BGM CDs.

[arr] Re: The dilemma about extracts from DVD!

2008-10-30 Thread kaissiom
I don't think ARR can be approached regarding this matter, that would be
very irresponsible of us. Gops/Vijay will be in the same boat as us in
this matter... confused. We really need some expert assistance here.

Regarding the disclaimer... I had started posting the disclaimer for
only one reason:
1. Primarily to cover my own behind
And that was when I was actually sharing full BGMs, I have stopped doing
so for a while now.

When I buy a DVD or a CD, I'm paying for it, I have the right to watch
it or listen to it where-ever I like, when ever I like as long as I'm
not violating any copyright laws. I'm not an expert on copyright
laws... but I have studied business law to a certain extent.
Copyright/patent laws are there to protect the intellectual/artistic
property of the right holder. It actually is all about money, and if
not money then some other kind of compensation. These laws are there to
make sure that "someone" other than the "rightholder" is not taking
advantage or benefiting in anyway from the property of the rightholder
whithout the rightholder's consent or permission. Backup of something
you have purchases is allowed.

BGMs are nothing but backups of music in the DVD. As long as I own the
DVD, I can create backups of it. As long as I'm not making any money
from the backups or broadcasting it in anyway or claiming it as my
"creation", I'm not violating any rules.

Let me try to explain my disclaimer here:
By clicking on the following link you are certifying that you
currently own the original copy of . The content provided to you
for downloading is
strictly for backup purposes. I, Kaissiom, certify that I own the
original content and make duplicates for backup purposes only. By
downloading the content, you certify that you currently own the
original content and want to protect it from possible damage.
-Here I'm requiring the downloader to certify that he/she owns the
original DVD/CD. If you own it and I own it, then there's no problem in
us sharing a backup.

This is a free service, I'm not selling you music or distributing music,
I'm
only providing backups of the music you already own.
-Here I'm explicitly indicating that nobody is benefiting from this
exhange or in other words... it's not causing any "loss" to the
rightholder.

I, Kaissiom, will not be held accountable for the downloader's use of
my backups.
-Here I'm explicitly indicating that I'm responsible for my actions, but
what the downloader does with it after he/she downloads it is not my
responsibility. They are liable for their actions... legal or illegal.

If you sell, trade, or forfeit your ownership of your original
software, you
agree to destroy the CDR or any digital backups of that title.
-If you sell or trade or forfeit your ownership of original work, you
automatically lose ownership of your backups... that is what these lines
are explaining.

You take full responsibility for your own actions when using these
back-ups and release Kaissiom from all liabilities, which may arise -
expressed, written, or implied.
-Here I'm releasing myself of any liability and again enforcing the
burdern of responsibilty with the downloader after he/she downloads.

By downloading the content, you are
complying with these regulations.
-Basically... If you do not like my conditions above... DO NOT download.

This allows me (Kaissiom) to
duplicate, and you (a consumer) to receive the right to use my
backups. All trademarks and copyrights are owned by the respective
third parties."
-Again... I can only share these items with you as backups given we both
own the originals, we won't profit from it and or broadcast it, you will
destroy the backups if you lose ownership of the orignal, you are
responsible for what you do with it after you download it, and last but
not the least, I'm not claiming these to be my creations... all rights
are owned by the respective third parties.

Therefore, once someone downloads it, they can not further share it with
someone or host it somewhere or do anything illegal with it. But if
they do, they are responsible for all their actions and the consequences
thereof.

I don't know... I hope we all find some solution to this dilemma.

One thing is for certain... We CAN NOT share full length vocals
extracted from the DVDs - They are commercially avaialbe in form of
audio CD... as opposed to BGMs which are not commercially available.

Sigh!

[arr] Re: The dilemma about extracts from DVD!

2008-10-29 Thread kaissiom
Dear Aravind,

Now you feel the dilemma I have been facing for at least a year or
two... ever since I heard my BGM on Radio. I have numerous BGMs and
other High Quality rips from DVDs that I can't share :(

The fact is... we trust our brothers and sisters on this group here.
We are all here for the same purpose... to share and celebrate Rahman.
And it is with this spirit that we share these rare and generally
unavailable bits and pieces. But once we share something in the
public space like this group, whatever we share becomes available to
the public, who doesn't necessarily have to be a true, devoted,
dedicated Rahman fan.

You can not imagine the pain I felt when I heard my BGM on the Radio.
And I knew it was my BGM because it was edited.. I had edited it. I
felt like I had somehow betrayed Rahman... his hard work. That's when
I made the conscious decision to stop sharing BGMs.. it was right
after RDB bgms.

Anyhow... I would definitely like to point out one major thing...
namely the difference between a)BGMs and b)Vocals from DVD

I'm not aware of the copyright laws about the soundtrack on DVDs, but
it would be great if someone(Amith Chandran?) could shed some light on
that. But please notice the difference between the above mentioned
musical bits from DVD:

a)BGM (Background Music) bits:
1. Available commercially: NO.. unless released as a soundtrack like
some of the tracks in BOSE.
2. Rights owned by: Producer/Composer, don't know?
3. Violations of copyright laws: Maybe, don't know?

b)Vocals (extracted from DVD):
1. Available commercially: YES.. in the form of original CD. We are
extracting the music(vocals) from the DVD, but the same exact music is
available in the commercial form in original CD. Commercial here
implies money can be made from it. And technically it shouldn't
matter if you extract vocals from a CD or a DVD... because it's the
same song and the same vocals. Therefore, you are tampering with a
commercially available product.. which definitely implies violation of
copyright laws.
2. Rights owned by: same right-holders as the original CD
3. Violated of copyright: Definitely YES.

Therefore, to conclude, we must note the obvious difference between
just a BGM(not commercially available) vs. Vocals(Commercially
available in form of CD).

The copyright laws regarding BGMs are not very clear and may not be
very well defined in the legal system.. it may be something like...
"All rights of the DVD are owned by the producer"? But we can still
argue that BGMs are by themselves not available to the public in
commercial form. If there is demand for it then maybe these
producers/composers should start making BGMs commercially available...
that way we don't have to go through the process of ripping and
sharing these BGMS. It could be a market they are overlooking and
while they do something about it, we are filling up the void for the
die-hard fans and that too for "free". The "free" part is a big deal
because nobody is making money from these BGMs and that is what it
boils down to.. how much money did the copyright holders lose?

On the other hand, copyright laws of Audio CD are very well defined.
Either the Record Company owns it(most of the times) or the producer
owns it or the composer owns it or they own it partially( Rahman is
working on it).
I believe full length vocals of any song should not be shared..for the
very same reason we do not share full length audio songs from Rahman's
CDs.

Rahman is an excellent corporate citizen and he is our role model. We
should learn from him and follow him in his ideals as true fans. We
as a group and as true Rahman fans are against piracy and plagiarism.
Not just Rahman's... please buy original CDs and DVDs of all the
Artists you like!

Make Rahman Proud,
Wasim.

Also, if you have winamp, you can just drag and drop the file in

2008-10-27 Thread kaissiom
Hi guys,

I totally understand and share your excitement about this unplugged
versions. I'm not that selfish to keep these musical gems of Rahman
to myself, that is why I share. Although, you have to understand that
my decision to not share something like "Khwaja-unplugged" in its
entirety stems from multiple other reasons and issues beyond my control.

Someone close to Rahman has expressed to me that Rahman doesn't really
like us ripping bits from DVDs and sharing with everyone. There are
legal, copyright and other issues involved there, along with the fact
that his hard work easily becomes available to all these copycats that
use his music in TV serials and even some movies. Plus, Rahman
doesn't solely own the rights of his music, I believe the producer
owns the partial rights, if not all rights. I guess what I'm trying to
get to is that sometimes we love someone so much that we end up
hurting them without intending it. Rahman opposes remixes, especially
remixing of his songs(without this consent). Imagine, if something
like Khwaja's vocals were out in the public domain, it could spur
remixes. A DJ or someone who wants to remix tries hard to eliminate
or isolate the voices in the song. Therefore, finding just the vocals
of a song is like a dream come true for the remixer. If I was to
shared the complete version of Khwaja, it would be available in the
public domain for anyone to use. They can try infinite number of
beats and templates on Khwaja. They don't need Rahman, they will have
his original singing and would simply need to add beats. Now, all
this may sound far fetched, but we have to recognize the possibility
of this occuring. One of the BGMs I extracted had ended up on a Radio
channel. After that I had decided to limit my BGMs and other work. I
do not want to be an accomplice to copycats and certainly do not want
to hurt Rahman.

Imagine the dedication, passion and divinity Rahman has put in Khwaja.
And also imagine the layers of music and hours or days of hard work
gone into making the music and beats etc. of Khwaja. And then imagine
how well it's come out and how well it's layered. The vocals of
Rahman are supposed to be hidden in the layers, never to be extracted
the way I have extracted them. As I have expressed before, my talent
or whatever you want to call it is an accident. I wish I had never
discovered this accident. But now I know how to do it and I love it,
but imagine my dilemma, I can not share it. But I can not resist
sharing a small part of it. That way I feel I'm doing justice to
both Rahman and the fellow Rahmaniacs.

Bottom line, we all love Rahman and do not want to hurt him. Sharing
Khwaja - unplugged - complete version will be like hurting Rahman.

I hope I have explained some of the reasons behind my decision. I
hope you understand the reasons and see the logic behind those. And
if you don't agree with me then, I certainly hope you are able to
forgive me.

Although my methods are different, there are other simpler ways of
extracting vocals which are already being discussed on the group.
Sooner or later someone is going to post these unplugged versions
online. I personally do not want to be that person. Now, I am not
saying everyone should stop sharing BGMs and other musical bits. One
can never dictate what other people can do or not do. Therefore, all
we can do is... do what we think is RIGHT because at the end of it we
are all responsible for our own individual actions and not those of
others.

With that said, I'm really looking forward to Yuvvraaj and Slumdog
Millionaire and Ghajini! Expecting amazing Background Score for each
of these.

Regards,
Wasim.

[arr] [Translation] - Zindagi Zindagi

2008-10-15 Thread kaissiom
Hi Guys,

Here's my attempt at translating Zindagi. I have not checked out the
rest of the album yet. This song is on 'repeat' and I'm unable to skip
it as of yet. [:D] The lyrics and underlying beats are reminiscent of
Zindagi from Meenaxi, albeit a little faster.

* As the lyrics happen to be by Gulzar, it's needless to say that they
are open to interpretation. Remember "Naram naram ujlaa dhuan" from
Saathiya? So, please forgive me if the translation doesn't fit your
interpretation.

Here goes:

Zindagi Zindagi, kya kami reh gayi?
-[Life O' Life, what is missing?]
Aankh ki kor mein...
-[Corner of the eye...]
Aankh ki kor mein, kyon nami reh gayi?

I wish I had a secret friend at Panchatan :)
Gomzy is right, I ripped it from the DVD. The process is the opposite
of ripping the BGMs and plus 3 or 4 additional steps. It's difficult,
but it's not impossible. I'm glad my efforts paid off, I'm glad you
guys liked the piece. The singing is just so soulful that it is hard
not to like it.

Listen to that divine voice! He does not need any music, you won't even

[arr] I Miss You Da - Extraordinary programming.

2008-09-20 Thread kaissiom
I did something yesterday which I have not done in a long time; put
the headphones on, turn the lights off, close my eyes and listen to
few Rahman songs before going to sleep.

I usually try that routine with some very soothing songs like Ishwar
Allah, Anbai Sugama, Do Kadam, etc. to clear my head of all of the
day's chores. But this time I went for Sakkarakatti because I have
not got a chance to listen to it on headphones.

First was Taxi Taxi. Even though I was very tired, I found myself
energized, enough to tap my feet on the ground, rock the chair and bob
my head to the hip reggaeton beat.

Next was I Miss You Da(shuffle mode). There I was... totally
captivated by the first few seconds of the song. Even though I had
heard it multiple times in my car, the effect on the headphones was
astounding. As the song progressed, I found myself completely
immersed in the sound and indulging myself in the details of the song.
"Wow" is the only way to describe it. The precisely calculated
panning and fading effects on different instruments and vocals along
with the finetuned adjustment of the ambiance and texture of the sound
gave this, sort of, "life" to the song. I felt as if I was encircled
by the Song, with Rahman hitting me from all directions; left, right,
center, front and back. Surround like experience from a stereo song.
The detailed programming that has gone into this song are nothing
short of extraordinary. I couldn't go on to another song, listened to
it a couple more times.

As it was getting late at night, I took the headphone off after
listening to this masterpiece a few times... shaking my head in
disbelief of what I had just heard. As I found myself exclaiming
"Unbelievable!" as I went to sleep, a part of my brain spoke to me, in
reassurance, and reminded me:
"This is why You are a Rahman fan!"

p.s. Sorry, it may be irrelevant, but I thought I should share my
Rahmaniac experience.

regards,
Wasim.

[arr] Hindi vs. Tamil Chinnamma

2008-08-05 Thread kaissiom
Hi friends,

It's really refreshing to hear Chinnamma in a voice other than
Sukhwinder's. Even though I don't understand the Tamil lyrics(the
Hindi lyrics by Sukhwinder didn't make any sense anyway), the Tamil
song in both male/female voice is a great welcome.

However, it's missing the punch Hindi Chinnamma has towards the end-
around the 5:00 minute mark. The, what sounds like Taiko, drums
towards the 5:00 minute mark onward and especially at around 5:11 is
definitely one of the highlights of the Hindi version.

I always wonder if Rahman stores all the templates for all of his
songs, anticipating the he may have to use it again. He must be adding
the vocals of the singers as a very last layer, which can replaced by
other singers(different language), if necessary. Whatever the logic,
I'm sure he had to develop it early on in his career when Roja, Bombay
and others were being dubbed in so many languages. It's always
interesting to listen to Rahman's dubbed or remade songs because he
may modify the song in some way. I try hard to identify these
changes, and there are definitely some changes in the Tamil Chinnama,
noticeably;
- The echo effect with the chorus in the beginning
- The sound is better, more crisper
- Missing the punch towards the end.
- Sukwinder's voice seems to be have been retained for the very last
"shara rara rara"
- Missing the footsteps at the end.

I can't decide if I like the Hindi one better or the Tamil one, I
enjoy them both thoroughly.

regards,
Wasim.

[arr] Re: Aayutha Ezhuthu/Yuva voice track removed BGM

2008-08-02 Thread kaissiom
Hey Vithur, this is brilliant stuff, awesome quality- much better than
anything I have ripped!

While you are working with Yuva, you should rip "Lallan's theme" -
"Hey Dholna". It's a haunting BGM. I think the vocals are by Rahman,
but I'm not too sure because there is too much ambient noise with it.

Looking forward to some amazing voiceless pieces from you and Murali.

Thanks,
wasim.

Re: [arr] Kaissiom's Stolen Treasure! Sorry !

2008-08-02 Thread kaissiom
Hello friends,

hi Sahel, [tujhko to main baadhmein dekhoonga]

I have tried to rip a few older songs from Rahman's DVDs in higher
quality. And this song is one of the DVD-quality songs I have. Newer
songs, especially post year 2000 are already available in brilliant
quality. But I have a few old albums in cassette-format, and it's
impossible to find CD's of these albums. I have listened to these
cassettes tapes so many times that the quality/crispness of the audio
is faded and songs sound bland. If I'm lucky to find a DVD of any of
these movies, I try to rip from the DVD, hence the DVD-quality.

I'm not sure if this quality sounds better than original CD, but this
is the best I have. For those of you who downloaded it and enjoyed
it, you're welcome and Thank you!

regards,
wasim.

Since you asked for my input: I believe everyone in this group
contributes to the group in their capacity and capability.. be it Gopal,
Vijay, me, Vithur, You(lalisingh) or any other member, including someone
who joined yesterday. Together, we all make this group a worthwhile and
meaning place for all Rahman fans worldwide. Let's not deviate from our
goal and let's celebrate Rahman's music in whatever way we can.. be it
truly voiceless or partially voiceless.

Let me also share a secret with you, Vithur is a good friend of mine,
we have respect for each other and we learn from each other. I think
it's best to take these topics off-line and contact the concerned
individuals directly with your feedback, suggestions and criticism, in
this case.. me and Vithur. Trust me, I have received many emails of
appreciation, suggestions, and criticisms. Every single one of them has
helped me improve my work. Together, we all can work for the benefit of
the group.

I recently lost a very beloved pet to rare viral

way to go. And I have also used doom9 in the past.

To add to the software, may I suggest: Nero Editor & if you can get it

Hi guys,

I've uploaded my favorite BGM in Jodhaa Akbar, when Akbar goes to Amer.
Coincidently it comes in seconds after the BGM Thulasi had uploaded.
That BGM had touched him, and this is the one that stood out for me.
It's 'Naghmein hi naghmein hain' part from In Lamhoun Ke... played fast

[arr] Voiceless BGMs - Explained!

2008-02-19 Thread kaissiom
Voiceless BGMs - Explained!

I'm not much of any expert on this topic, as I happened to accidentally
or unintentionally discover the process of ripping voiceless BGMs.
There may be members on this group who have expertise in this area who
may be able to shed some more light on this topic. Following article is
my limited understanding of this subject, please correct me if I am
wrong.

First, some definitions:
* For the sake of discussion L refers to Left and R refers to Right
(speakers)

Mono: Single channel (no difference in L or R speaker, both reproduce
one sound)
L speaker = R speaker = One sound from both.
[Note]: Rahman has been very disappointed that 'Kabhi Na Kabhi' was
recorded in stereo, but released in Mono.

Stereo: Two or more channels (generally two channel, separate
recording/reproduction of sound, L and R)
L speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
+ R speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
= 3 different sounds possible: L sound + Shared L/R sound + R sound
[Note]: Think of it as a Venn diagram: Both L and R speakers reproduce
same sound most of the time, but will also have variations of their own.
Quite evident in 'Daud' - Title track, the entire track has variations
in Left and Right channel.

Stereo Surround: 5.1 or higher (5 channels plus 1 LFE;
Dolby-Digital,dts)
L Front speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
+R Front speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
+C Center speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
+L Rear speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
+R Rear speaker: recorded/reproduced separately
+LFE Low-Frequency Effects(sub-woofer)
= Surround Sound experience.
[Note]: Most, but not all, DVD-Videos have 5.1 surround sound. And also
the rare, but dying, DVD-Audio format falls in this category.

There's no limitation on the number of channels, I find some English
movies with 7.1 surround sound , you can also buy a 10.1 sound systems,
if you can find source to utilize those channels.

Almost all Media formats can reproduce mono and stereo, but not
surround:
Cassette tapes: Stereo and Mono
CD: Stereo and Mono
VCD: Stereo and Mono
DVD: Surround, Stereo and Mono

How does this relate to voiceless BGMs?
Voiceless BGMs are only possible from surround sound, given that they
were recorded and reproduce as surround. So, that leaves us with
DVD-Audio, which I won't get into, and DVD-Video, by which we mean
regular DVD movies.

How are BGMs recorded on DVDs?
I don't know exactly, but that's up to the composer and the sound
engineer. But in order to qualify as surround sound, they have to
record different sounds for different channels. For example they may
record actors' voices for the CENTER channel and the background score
for the two-REAR speakers and a combination of both voices and score on
the two-FRONT speakers (this is hypothetical, simple and
straightforward example):
L/R Front speakers: Combination/layers of both voices and background
score
CENTER speaker: Only voices
L/R Rear speakers: Only background score

You can imagine watching a movie and an extra sound effect from back, or
someone yelling from behind you or a car whooshing by. And remember,
they can try many different combinations with 5 different channels.

How to extract voiceless BGMs?
Simply put, you have to tap into the channels that only contain the
'Background Score'. In the simple example given above, it would be the
'L/R Rear Speaker/Channel'.

How do kaissiom and AJ extract voiceless BGMs?
Well, I can't speak for AJ, but I know he uses some software. And as
far as I'm concerned, I can write a longer post than this one trying to
explain how I accidentally did it. My method is not all software- it's
combination of hardware and software. I was fixing my computer and my
home-theater system set-up, such that I can play the music from my
computer on my surround sound system. This required additional cables,
adapters, etc.. but I accidentally cut one wire and attached it in the
wrong place somewhere on the soundcard and amplifier. And when I played
a movie on my computer, all I could hear was voices, no BGM. When I
switched some wires.. I got BGM, no voices... hence, voiceless BGMs. I
still have to switch these wires... every time I have to extract
voiceless BGMs ;-)

How can one extract voiceless BGMs?
-[Software]- Easiest way to do it: Find a DVD-ripping software that not
only rips audio from DVD, but rips audio as separate channels. Once you
have all the audio in different channels, keep the channel with BGM,
discard the rest.
-[Hardware]- Complicated way of doing it: Cut some wires from the
surround sound system and record it from the amplifier - this is how I
do it. It takes me about 5 to 6 hours to do a movie because I perform
additional editing using software to enhance the quality. I use
hardware(amplifier/soundcard) to extract the audio and then use
software(SoundForge) to enhance it.

Are there any caveats

[arr] Re: Jodha Akbar is another Mangal Pandey

2008-02-06 Thread kaissiom
This has turned out to be one of the longest threads in recent memory.
It all comes down to personal opinions, but I look at it this way..
Would you rather had Rahman not make any music for 'Parasuram' or
'Mangal Pandey' or 'Dil Se' or ''?

I cherish Parasuram and Mangal Pandey, but since people have picked on
these... let's see... would you have rather not have Main Vari Vari,
Rasiya, Muppatha Nimidham, Mangal Mangal, Kathakali, Holi Re, Kadhal
Vettukilli?

I don't know about you but if I were to lose these two albums, God
forbid, or any ARR album for that matter, I would be desperate to find
and buy these albums as soon as possible.

I guess something is always better than nothing, and too much
expectations leads to disappointment.

One word man: Awesome!

This is great, keep 'em coming. And you are right about softwares
when it comes to removing vocals, there is NO way you can actually
completely remove vocals. I've tried it with many softwares,
including Sonic Sound Forge, and this is as good as it gets.

[arr] TRANSLATION: Marhaba Mustapha (Al-Risalah)

2008-01-25 Thread kaissiom
Hi Guys,

So, I got hold of Al-Risalah. It has a total of 6 tracks. One by
Rahman, 'Marhaba Mustapha'. There is one by some Liyakat Ajmeri, and
the rest are by some Raj Verma.

One correction... this track is not exactly a Naat, it's a Nasheed.
Naat is generally referred to any religious poems/shayari/verses.
Whether a Naat contains music or not is completely up to the producer of
Naat, it doesn't have to be one way or other. Usually Naats praise the
God, but when they are specifically meant for prophet Muhammed(PBUH),
they are called Nasheeds. Therefore, this album has all Nasheeds.

Marhaba Mustafa is an awesome Nasheed, very simple yet spiritual. The
one thing different about it is the arabic rhythm/singing layered with
guitar/strings, and it has the regular harmonium and claps. It's a
soul-stirring song, as soon as I heard it, it kept on repeating it my
head, it has that effect. Soulful singing by Rahman!!

Again, I've attempted to translate this piece as requested by some of
you. Please forgive me and change it, if deemed necessary.

[arr] Huge confusion with JA audio.

2008-01-20 Thread kaissiom
One of my friends called me and we were talking about JA. He said he
liked the Azeem-O-Shaan song, he then continued on with how he doesn't
like the dialogues within the song, and also he didn't like the
quality of other songs... short..and unclear.

Upon further inquiry I found that he downloaded JA audio from
website online. He pointed me to that website and what they actually
have is the rips from the JA theatrical promo and the promos running
on TV. Someone, somewhere, uploaded a package of JA audio... which
includes these rips and also the one Hindi song from WOHE.

Upon doing a google search for JA audio, I found that this very
package is circulating the internet as the official, exclusive JA
audio. Given that a lot of people are going to download and listen to
songs before buying the CD, I'm concerned that they may call off JA
audio as 'below-average' without even listening to the real thing. My
friend was confident that he had downloaded the real thing. I told
him to go by the CD as it's very well worth it.

So, it could be a good thing or a bad thing...I'm not sure how it
could effect the audio sales, it could go either way.

Hi all,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's all Rahman. I believe he's singing

used, it sounds like different singers. I think some people will be
really surprised to listen to it closely and find Rahman hi Rahman in
the song. I think Rahman has touched new heights with the qawalli, as
far as singing goes.

[arr] TRANSLATION - Khwaja Mere Khwaja

2008-01-19 Thread kaissiom
Hi all, I have made a sincere attempt to translate this Sufi piece. As
it is, it's quite difficult to literally translate pure Urdu words, and
add Sufi words to that and the task becomes even more challenging,
simply because it's impossible to find english words with the same
literal meaning. I've tried to capture the essence of the qawalli by
keeping the lyrics simple. Please feel free to correct it, if
necessary.

Here's a little background to help you understand..

Hazrat Khwaja Ghareeb-un-Nawaaz was born in Iran and later migrated to
India. He was the supporter of the weak, helper of the poor and gained
much love and respect from all people. He is a descendant of Hazrat
Ali(R.A), who was the son-in-law of Hazrat prophet Muhammed(PBUH.) Find
more info here.. http://www.gharibnawaz.com/g_teachings.htm

I have attempted to translate this beautiful song here. Feel free to
correct it if necessary.

Inn lamhoun ke daaman mein, paakeezah se risthey hain
-[Within the passage of these moments, reside some pure relations]

Koi kalima mohabbat ka, dohraate farishtey hain
-[The angels are repeating the prayers of love]

Khamosh si hai zameen, hairaan sa falaq hai
-[The Earth is silent, the sky is amazed]

Ek noor hi noor sa ab aasmaan talak hai
-[A kind of aura fills the sky]

Naghmein hi naghmein hain jaagti soti fizaaoun mein
-[There are poems in the ups and downs of the wind]

Husn hai saari adaaoun mein, ishq hai jaise hawaaon mein
-[There is beauty in every gesture, love is in the air]

Naghmein hi naghmein hain jaagti soti fizaaoun mein
-[There are poems in the ups and downs of the wind]

Husn hai saari adaaoun mein, ishq hai jaise hawaaon mein
-[There is beauty in every gesture, love is in the air]

Kaisa yeh ishq hia, kaisa yeh Khwaab hai
-[What kind of love is this? What kind of dream is this?]

Kaise jazbaat ka ummda sailaab hai
-[What kind of emotions have brought about this flood(of emotions)?]

Kaisa yeh ishq hia, kaisa yeh Khwaab hai
-[What kind of love is this? What kind of dream is this?]

Kaise jazbaat ka ummda sailaab hai
-[What kind of emotions have brought about this flood(of emotions)?]

Din badle, raatein badli, baatien badli

Jeene ke andaaz hi badle hai

Samay ne yeh kya kiya, badal di hai kaya

Tumhe maine paa liya, mujhe tumne paaya

Mile dekho aise hain hum, ke do sur ho jaise maddham
-[We have come together in such a way, like two inter-twined melodies]

Koi zyada na koi kam kisi raag mein
-[Melodies that are not higher or lower(than each other) on any note]

Ke prem aag mein, jalte dono hi ke tan bhi hai man bhi

Mann bhi hai tann bhi, tann bhi hai mann bhi, mann bhi hai tann bhi

Mere khwaboun ke is gulistaan mein, tumse hi to bahaar chaayee hai

Phooloun mein rang mere the lekin, inn mein khushboo tumhise aayi hai.
-[The flowers had my colors, but they have fragnance because of you]

Kyun dil bechain hai, kyun dil betaab hai

[arr] You know you are a Rahman fan when...

2008-01-12 Thread kaissiom
Hi guys,

The other day, someone accused me of being a "..typical Rahman fan!"
And my response was "Really? In that case, I stand guilty?"

I then thought about it and wondered what is a "typical" Rahman fan?

What is it that gets us all together here on this group... regardless of
race, religion, gender, age, language, geographical locations ?

Here's my best attempt at defining a "typical" Rahman fan... of course,
it's subjective but let me know if you guys agree with any of it. These
are my personal opinions and are meant no offense to anyone.

As a community service/announcement: I would like to let you know that
I'm going to mark my briefcase private soon. Therefore, help yourself
to any gems that may be missing from your library. Although, I would
like to add that there's not much in the briefcase, it's some of my
older extracts. But like they say... "One person's trash is another
person's treasure."

Speaking of trash, imagine all the music Rahman must have trashed,
thinking it is not "good enough", being the perfectionist he is. Wow,
but also knowing that Rahman is smart, I would imagine he is storing his
trash somewhere 'safe'. Anyways, just a food for thought :)

Regards,
Wasim.

Re: [arr] ARR music + Bose Headphones...

2007-10-28 Thread kaissiom
If I may add my 2 cents:

I have been collecting quality headphones/audio equipment, and from my
personal experience I can say that in my opinion Bose is overrated. I
have couple of Bose headphones (+ Bose HomeTheater) and they are great
at reproducing bass, but they really compromise in reproducing mids &
highs. So, if I really want to emphasize on bass, I listen to it on
Bose, but my $70 Aiwa HP-AK100, which I have for regular use,
outperforms Bose in other areas.

I also prefer Sennheiser over Bose. Just the fact that Bose doesn't
even disclose their frequency ranges/specification is really
frustrating because you can't compare Bose with other headphones based
on specs.

But it really comes down to personal preference and your "ear for
detail". My mom can't tell the difference between Bose and RCA.

If you are really in the market to buy Bose headphones, I recommend
you consider these as well:

1. Bang & Olufson A8 earphones:
http://www.bang-olufsen.com/page.asp?id=46

2. Sennheiser HD 595:
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_eng.nsf/root/05343

3. Etymotic ER.4:
http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er4.aspx

And if you want ultimate headphones...then these:

1. Shure E500:
http://www.shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Earphones/SEModels/us_pa_se530_content

2. Denon AH-D5000:
http://usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/3456.asp

I'm currently saving up for E500, it has three dedicated drivers to
cater to highs/mids/lows and they have fit them all in a plug, let's see.

[arr] Query about ATM and Sivaji(Hindi)

2007-10-27 Thread kaissiom
Hi all,

I had a couple of questions, please chime in if anybody knows.

1. Re: ATM - Couple of songs have been credited to Ujjaini. Is this
the same Ujjaini from Saregampa Challenge 2005? Because, if it is
then it's great to know that Rahman is tapping in the talent emerging
from these competitions. I would love to see Rahman give opportunity
to Mauli, Sumedha or Amanat from SRGMP C2007.

2. Re: Sivaji(Hindi) - Does anybody know who is doing the lyrics in
Hindi? I seriously hope they rope in Javed Akthar sahab or Prasoon
Joshi for lyrics. A lot of dubbed albums have suffered the fate of
bad lyrics when translated.

p.s. I have been hooked on ATM. The album keeps growing on me, all
songs hold their own. Whoever has done the Remix of Ponmagal, has
done a great job. But the tortoise of the album, which has slowly and
steadily won the race of winning my heart is Kelamal Kaiyile. I
didn't like this song in the beginning, I thought it was average, but
wow, it was just my brain trying to understand what is going on in
that song. It has some serious experimentation - with tamil song and
subtle techo/trans beats. Only Rahman can think, create and deliver
something like that.

People talk about expectations from Rahman albums, having too high
expectations etc.. Honestly I do not have any expectations of Rahman.
I'm a devotee of Rahman, and take whatever he has to offer, as a boon.

"All that is good and successful comes from God, all that is bad and
failure is because of myself" - Rahman himself (I can't remember the
exact phrase but it was to the same effect.)

Always,
Proud to be a Rahmaniac.

[arr] Style in Hindi... I had fun doing it!

2007-09-27 Thread kaissiom
Hi Guys,

So moving on from my last rambling on Saawariya, wait...

hmmm I actually didn't ramble on Saawariya, maybe I should. I like
Saawariya Saawariya from Swades. Good music, Alka has done a good job?

Anyway, I have uploaded a Hindi version of Style and No this is not a
leaked version of any kind:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w13mXrzUhpE

So, I gave it shot.. lyrics, singing and music on FLStudio.

I'm not a singer and I didn't even try to be. There's so many layers
in the song, I had fun just doing minor layering and of course making
music in FLStudio. Anyway here's the lyrics, it's pretty cheezy,
don't hate me:

Give me one time sunlight
Oh Give me two time sunlight
OR Give me three time sunset

Chahiye kya sunlight
Chahiye kya moonlight
Pehle tha main kaala
Ab to hoo main white

Aajao sab maidaan main
Kardoonga sab ki chutti main
Jab sab karenge darr ke run
Main bhi karronga piche run

Dekho Dekho
Isko to dekho
Dekho Dekho
Isko to dekho

Mara mara mara maarne ka style
Pita pita pita peetne ka style
Toda toda toda todhne ka style
Phoda phoda phoda phodne ka style

Marne ka style
Peetne ka sytle
Phodhne ka style

Khaane ka style
Peene ka style
Sone ka style

Mara mara mara maarne ka style
Pita pita pita peetne ka style
Toda toda toda todhne ka style
Phoda phoda phoda phodne ka style
Khana khana khana khaane ka style
Pani pani pani peene ka style
sona sona sona sone ka style
Naya naya naya Apun ka Style

Let me know what you think.

I'm not sure if anyone else has used this website before, but this site

I was searching for something else when I came across this site, it was

It was interesting to find my comments and Gops' comments in the

old comment... I managed to mention all the Hindi albums till date, but
no Tamil albums because I had not listened to his Tamil music as of that

[arr] Re: 320 kbps version of ek mohabbat

2007-06-29 Thread kaissiom
Sorry, but this is not @ 320kbps.

Saving a low quality, 64kpbs song for example, as a 320kpbs song,
doesn't make it 320kbps.

Yes, the size will go up. Yes, it will say "320kbps".
But it's not "320kbps" of the original song.
It's 320kbps of the 64kbps song. So, you really end up with a very
clear version of a "low quality" song.

No offense intended, Thank you Bala for sharing, it was all in good
spirit. Me being me, specially when it comes to quality, had to comment.

Wasim.

[arr] Re: a few lines abt his music

2007-06-29 Thread kaissiom
Hi Diya,

I think you are speaking for the most of us here. Short and to the
point. I find it hard to describe to people why I like Rahman. For
instance, someone will say, Himesh is good or Ismail is good, they are
coming up with really good music, why don't you like them? You are a
typical "fan" who doesn't want to hear criticism or you won't even
appreciate good music, just because it's not Rahman's.

I find it difficult to make my point across. Actually, being a Rahman
fan has exposed me to a level of quality that makes me appreciate good
music, regardless of where it comes from. But people don't understand
that it's not just his music. And I can't find words to describe my
connection with Rahman. It's not just his music, it's everything
about him, it's the persona of Rahman. People, other than his fans,
will never understand it.

I guess it's the connection we all fans share here on this group, I
feel like this is my little community. It's a unique community I
belong to, where everyone speaks the music of Rahman, where everyone
is tied with the strings of Rahman, pun intended :)

Wasim.

[arr] Dil se re - Winning; Poll closing July 6th.

2007-06-29 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs,

Here's the results of the poll so far.

1. Dil Se - Dil Se Re - #1 with 23% of the votes.
2. Boys - Girlfriend and Alai Payuthey - Pachai Nirame "tied" with 17%
3. Roja - Yeh Haseen Vadiyan - with 8%

I will be closing the poll on July 6th. Make your vote count.

Only 47 people have voted so far, but it looks like Dil Se is the most
favorite of the "Fans of Rahman"?

[arr] One More Chance - DVD Quality Audio - Vote to get yours!

2007-06-08 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs!!

Well, I knew what I was getting myself into. So, I'm not surprised.
I know it is like a tease to let you listen to only one, one of my
favorite, song in high quality and not to expect to hear from so many
of you.

Due to an overwhelming response from so many of you requesting just
ONE additional song(favorite)in high quality, I've created a poll.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/arrahmanfans/surveys?id=2518276

Please go and vote for your favorite song. Song with the highest vote
will be presented in Highest Quality. Again, this will definitely be
the last time. So, I hope you find you song on the list and hope that
others will concur with you. I know it's not fair, they are all my
favorite songs, but there are 25 of them, you are bound to find at
least one. May be not your most favorite, but close.

Good luck voting, it's never easy to pick just ONE Rahman song. But
good luck, be true to yourself. This could be an ultimate test for a
fan, or torture I should say.

P.S.: I have not decided when I will be closing the poll, but I'm sure
sooner than later we will have at least 2 to 3 "clear winners". So,
may be in a week, I will close the poll, and you will have the Winner.

[arr] *Song Uploaded* - DVD Quality: Roja song uploaded!!

2007-05-29 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs,

I've posted the song online. Please provide feedback, share the
experience, and let me know if you agree with me on the quality.

I can not explain in words.. the experience of listening to certain
songs in this quality, the most notable experience of euphoria
occurred while listening to the following songs:

- Mustafa Mustafa (I had never heard the bass like that)
- Urvashi Urvahsi
- Humma Humma
- Dil hai sanam (Chor Chor)

Tip: Your computer or ipod may not be best equipped to listen to this
format. If that is the case, I highly recommend burning the song onto
a CD and listening to it on a high end system.

Some technical details to keep in mind:
- Volume levels on this audio is lower than most other formats, due to
the averaging logic, I don't want to get into details.

- High quality means already high levels of treble and bass. If you
have an amp, set it to modest settings. I don't want to get blamed,
if you blow up your speakers :)

[arr] DVD-Audio: anyone interested?

2007-05-25 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs,

It was a couple of years back that I accidentally or unintentionally
came across a method of fetching *voiceless* BGMs. And
co-incidentally, at around the same time our dear friend AJ (where are
you AJ?) also discovered another way of doing the same thing. It was
music to the ears and treat for the fans. We've come a long way
since, many other wonderful people in the group have joined the BGM
frenzy since. I admit, I have become selfish enough to keep the newer
BGMs to myself for quite some time now, but there are multiple reasons
for that, which could be the subject of a whole another topic. But
this time around, it's another breakthrough, DVD-Quality music.

In my personal opinion, in this "i-pod" age, there are 3 types of
music listeners in general:
A) People that are size conscious (due to the limitations of the
hard-drive on their i-pod/computer)

B) People that are quality conscious (want the best quality regardless
of size)

C) People that are neither type-A nor type-B and basically have no
preference and could care less about the technical details.

Well, I happen to be a hardcore type-B person. And if you happen to
be type-B, carry on reading, and if you are not type-B, but still
interested, you are also welcome.

I could care less about the size on my hard-drive, as long as I can
grab hold of the highest quality Rahman music out there. It is a
pretty straight forward logic, as the size of the song goes down, the
quality goes down. Although, the 5 MB, 128 kpbs song sounds great and
you can't tell the difference on your ipod, the difference becomes
quite noticeable on a hi-fi system or when playing the music on loud
volume. I personally store Rahman's music at the highest quality on
my computer or my "ipod" (I actually don't like ipods, I have a
Creative Zen M, if you want quality, I would recommend Creative). The
huge file sizes do reduce the number of songs I can have, but going
with a bigger HD takes care of that problem.

So, in my pursuit of "high quality" Rahman music, I had yet another
breakthrough… DVD-Quality music. I have been quietly, one at a time,
ripping DVD music of all of my Rahman DVDs. Let's not forget that we
already have the highest-quality audio available in the market for
these movies in form of original Audio CDs. But the DVD audio I'm
ripping is unarguably superior. I now have 3 x each of Rahman's
songs. 1) in highest quality mp3 format, 2) in Audio CD format, 3) in
DVD music format. Yes, call me a Rah-maniac, when I said I'm a
hardcore type-B person, I meant it.

Just based on simple logic of relation between file size and quality
here's how they stack up: Example, Chotti si Aasha from Roja, run
time: Approximately 5 minutes.

1) Highest quality mp3 format, 320 kbps:
File Size(approx.): 11.3 MB

2) Audio CD, wav format:
File Size(approx.): 48.3 MB

3) DVD-Quality audio, wma format:
File Size(approx.): 81.2 MB

Well, does it really make a difference? You have to listen to it to
believe it. You can hear all the minute details and all instruments
in back quite clearly. The highs are sharper and the basses are
lower. I mean I could talk all about it, but unless you hear it, you
won't know.

Well, assuming that we are all Rahman fans on this group, and assuming
that all of the "fans" should at least have Roja in their collection,
I'm hesitantly willing to sharing ONE song from Roja in DVD quality.
Why you may ask? Because I would hate to keep the gem to myself. It
is an experience every fan should experience. I can not describe it
in words...the joy of listening to Roja, Chor Chor, Bombay, Sapnay,
Duet, etc. in DVD Quality music.

What triggered my quest for this High-quality sound was that one post
on this group, where someone posted a Thiruda Thiruda song and claimed
it was DVD audio. I got excited, downloaded it, listened to it and I
could swear it can not be DVD quality audio, because the sound on the
Audio CD was definitely better. That was it! I decided to find out
what DVD quality audio would really sound like. I'm actually very
happy with my discovery, although it means more hard-drive space. But
I know sooner or later someone in this group will post more of these,
just like the BGMs.

The other beauty of this DVD-quality music is that it is in wma format
and can be burned on to a regular CD and played on any system that
plays burned CDs. Essentially, you burned CD will have the version of
the song that is better(quality) than the version on original CD. I
recommend you burn this song and listen to it in a hi-fi system if
possible or using a decent pair of headphones (B&O, Sennheiser, Bose,
SHURE) And if you can't listen to it on a hi-fi system now, you could
probably keep it for future use.

But before I post anything, I was not even sure if anyone would
actually be interested in this high-quality audio. I mean I truly
don't know if people care about quality or size for that matter or is
it just me? Why post some

[arr] Is it me or that snare too loud?

2007-04-29 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs,

I was listening to Guru again, just like every other day. I know, I
know, most people have moved on to Sivaji. I still have the hangover
from Guru as I'm trying to absorb Sivaji. Wow, every song in Sivaji
is so unique and like always "slow poison". Well, going back to Guru,
Tere Bina in particular.

It's definitely one of the best ARR songs, plus him singing it puts it
in another league completely. But if there is one thing I wish was
different about the song is the snare beat. Although the use of snare
itself is great, I find the pitch and volume of the snare a bit out
of place. I'm not critisizing Rahman, because as a fan I have come to
realize many a times that some of the unusual "sounds" in his songs
are intentional. Only the master knows his work and all we could do
is try to understand it. So, whether the snare bit there is
intentional? I don't know. May be it was Rahman's decision, may be it
was the work of the sound engineers. I'll never know. But I do know
that I would have appreciated the song a tab bit more, if the snare
hadn't been that loud.

The song itself has a very hindustani/sufi elements to it, as it is
inspired by "Sajna tera bina" by NFAK. The singing and instruments
for the most part are also along the same lines, if there is one thing
different about the mood of the song is the snare beat. The snare
sounds like it is out of a pop/rock/english song. Again, that is
intentional, I'm not surprised by that, it is Rahman after all, and in
fact I feel it's great fusion. But I can't ignore the sharpness and
volume of the snare that it sometimes sounds like some kind of timer
ticking. And its volume level varies throughout the song. I feel as
if it was added "on top" of the song after the whole song was done.

>It sounds great when it starts at 00:20
>All of a sudden there's a sharpness/volume increase at 00:39
>It goes through minor changes in between and gets completely dropped
at 02:06 - The song sounds great without it.
>It re-enters at a moderate level again at 02:47
>It is well-blended with the background beat between 03:00 and 03:58
>Then you can hear it in varying degrees until the song ends.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've had to turn the volume down
during certain parts of the song due to the snare. I know what you
are thinking, "What is he doing complaining about the little things?"

Well, I'm a Rahman fan, and by definition it means that I do pay
attention to and care about minute details in Rahman's songs.

But another thing I know about myself is that I have very sensitive
ears, I sometimes pick up sounds that most people in the room do not.
And that could just be a contributing factor to the whole situation.
So I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way about the
snare being loud or is it just me after all?

Regards,
Wasim.

[arr] Re: It's His Signature - Noise in Start of "Style" Song.

2007-04-15 Thread kaissiom
Actually Rahman has been using this sound quite extensively. He has
been using it for a while, if you haven't noticed he tends to stick to
a certain vibe or sounds for a while, before he catches on to
something else. Like during Tehzeeb time... he was on phone
tones(sounds).

This old record or crackling sound has been evident in a past few
albums. I believe it's his signature sound which stays for a few
years, before he catches on to something else.

1. Sivaji - Style: during the beginning and the ending.

2. Guru - Ay Hairathe: around 3:05, right when Alka starts singing "Ay
hairathe"

3. Aa Aah - Thigu Thigu: beginning of the song.

4. Meenaxi - Chinamma Chilkamma: beginning of the song. (I believe
this was the start of Rahman's "newfound" trend of adding crackling sound)

Re: [arr] I need Rahman's vocals - please help!!! - ATTN: lalisingh20

2007-02-28 Thread kaissiom
Hello friends,

And Mr. Lali, in regards to your email inquiry:

1. Yes, I have many instrument-less songs of Rahman sir.
2. Yes, I have many other rare bits, including DVD-Audio of many
movies like Roja, Bombay, etc.. etc.
3. No, I'm afraid I can't tell you how I got them.
4. No, I'm afraid I will not be sharing these with the group, as
mentioned ealier, it is for personal listening pleasure only.

My hobby, or pastime, is to play with Rahman-sir's music, I'm not a
sound engineer or a DJ. But I'm always working on personal
projects... utilizing Rahman sir's music. Some of them come out to be
great, some not that great. Other than myself, only my family members
get to hear most of my projects involving Rahman sir's music. I have
posted a few of these things on the group over time, of which, the
"medley" remains very popular. But for obvious reasons, I can't and I
won't share everything I have, sorry, and NO I'm not selfish. I have
no intentions of selling these or making profits from these, even if
someone was out there to pay me. It's strictly for personal use. The
most I can do is share this little sample with you.

http://rapidshare.com/files/18657066/YehJoDesHai_Vocals-sample_.mp3.html

And if you are still wondering how I got them... "Rahman sir himself
came to my house, we had coffee, and he sang all the songs for me,
live & unplugged, while I was recording. And then I woke up from my
dream, but lo! and behold!, these songs were magically recorded on my
tape-recorder." ;)

On another note..

I'll have Guru's BGMS in a week or so, but I'm not sure if I'll be
posting that on the group. There are other people on the group who
can do this now, so that's good. And even if I post Guru's BGMs, I'm
afraid that will be my last contribution to the group. As much as I
would love to share joy(Rahman) with you all, I also have to be true
to myself, and do what is right. I'm sure most of you will
understand. There's a lot of talent on the group, something or other
will always keep emerging from the group.

regards,
Wasim.

[arr] Re: SWADES BGM RIPPED IN MALAYALAM FILM

2007-02-20 Thread kaissiom
Thank you. Proves my point.

Anyone can rip a BGM, but it would be heart-breaking if some imposter
infiltrated into the group and walked away with all the BGMs shared on
the group. Work done by Rahman, financed by financiers, ripped by
hardcore fans(with no intentions of piracy), and taken advantage of by
who knows who.

At least I would feel particularly guilty if I find out I have
somehow, inadvertently contributed to Rahman's work being copied or
pirated.

Just my opinion.
-Insist on buying originals.

[arr] Birthday present from Me to Rahman and the Group... Mix60

2007-01-09 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs,

Upon many requests, my promise to extend the original 20 minutes
medley to 60 minutes is now fulfilled. After months of work, in and
out of the project, combining some 120+ musical masterpieces, I have
been able to somewhat celebrate Rahman in 60 minutes of this musical
journey called "Mix60 @arrahmanfans."

I was working on two separate projects, the 60 medley and a separate
mix just for his birthday. At the last minutes I decide to combine
both projects. The mix that appears towards the last 4 or 5 minutes
of the medley was supposed to be the 2nd project, but there you have
it, both projects in one.. over 64 minutes of musical journey with
Rahman.

Just like before, test your knowledge of Rahman's music see if
you can correctly identify all the musical bits. And if you can,
you certainly deserve a pat or two on the back because only some
dedicated fans would know all the music bits, unless you are a new
fan. The 20 minute medley had some logic to it...it was a little
easier to identify all the tracks, but you'll find that the rest of
the 60 minute medley is all kinds of things mixed together. So the
first 20 minutes are somewhat logical but the rest is just a mess...
I just did whatever I felt like... some parts have come off well..
others.. I just liked doing anyway.

So, here's my Birthday wishes to Rahman, I wish him joy and even
more success in life and hope he continues to mesmerize us the way
he has. Happy Birthday Rahman.

Like always, your comments and criticisms are always welcome. Do
let me know how you like it. I have uploaded a low quality version
for space and piracy concerns, please e-mail me if you would like a
higher quality version. Please read the note before downloading.

NOTE: The content provided to you for downloading is strictly for
backup purposes. I, Kaissiom, certify that I own the original
content(CDs/DVDs) and make duplicates for backup purposes only. By
downloading the content, you certify that you currently own the
original content and want to protect it from possible damage. This
is a free service, I'm not selling you music or distributing music,
I'm only providing backups of the music you already own. I,
Kaissiom, will not be held accountable for the downloader's use of
my backups. If you sell, trade, or forfeit your ownership of your
original software, you agree to destroy the CDR or any digital
backups of that title. You take full responsibility for your own
actions when using these back-ups and release Kaissiom from all
liabilities, which may arise - expressed, written, or implied. By
downloading the content, you are complying with these regulations.
All trademarks and copyrights are owned by the respective third
parties.

[arr] WOHE BGMs - Believe it or Not - Uploaded!

2006-04-14 Thread kaissiom
Hello Rahmaniacs,

Here I am, doing what I do best... crave for more and more Rahman.
Believe it or not, I got this crazy idea of ripping WOHE BGMs (why
would one think about that?). Anyway, I decided to check it out and
to my surprise, I did find some BGMs, about 7 of them, plus one.

Salutes are in order... Mr.Rahman. He has not used exact same CD
soundtracks in the Movie, he has mixed and matched them. Listen to it
yourself and see what I mean, although some are entirely new tracks.

Now, I found 7 BGMs, but there is an additional track that was in "The
making of WOHE" which I'm not sure is by Rahman. It could be, it
could be not, there's some tabla in it You be the judge. The
track is called "Belly Dancers". The BGM in the movie is different
from the BGM in the making of. We all know Rahman changes stuff until
the last second, so it could be a "work in progress", but it is
completely different in the movie.

Well, I thought my effort was worth it, but, you guys let me know
what you think.

[arr] Couple of BGMs - uploaded.

2006-03-22 Thread kaissiom
Hello fellow Rahmaniacs!

It feels great to post something on the group again. I'm busy with
studies but I'll post something now and then. There have been quite a
few requests for the following, so here they are:

1.Bombay-BGM-Aankhoun mein (this is the Hindi counter-part of Malarodu
malar)-This one is just beautiful, a must have!!! for Hindi listeners.

2.Rangeela-BGM-End Credits (faster Rangeela mix)

3.Karen David- Carry Me Home (sample)

Here are couple of links:

http://rapidshare.de/files/16196319/3drops.zip.html

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WZ8EKE16

Enjoy!

I have Carry Me Home here because I wanted to bring this up. Does
anyone have the complete version of this song and Shillong Shillong?
These songs are supposed to be out there. I have the complete version
of the live version of this song, with no instruments, which is
actually a beautiful song but it sounds even more amazing with the
instruments. Then, I have two other 30 seconds samples of Carry Me
Home and Shillong Shillong. I have looked everywhere online, can't
find a single retailer of these songs. If anyone knows where we can
buy this CD please let us know. London fans... please help me buy
this CD.

Regards,
Wasim.

2006-02-18 Thread kaissiom
Hello fellow Rahmaniacs.

I have uploaded the Habibi BGM from Tehzeeb, I'm working on Tehzeeb
right now, but it is going to take a while. As far as I am concerned,
I've been busy with my studies. And it looks like it is going to stay
that way for a few months. I have not forgotten what I had promised:
Tehzeeb, Zubieda and Earth. It's just going to take some time, sorry
for the delay.

Enjoy!

[arr] The Medley - the answers + HQV + the story behind it.

2006-01-26 Thread kaissiom
First of all, thank you all for the comments. I was not expecting the
response I got for this medley, it was just overwhelming and positive.

HQV (High Quality Version) - Thanks to Bharath (singingphotons), he
has agreed to host the high quality version of this thing on his
server, he will post a message once he has it up on his server.

Here are the answers (I told you some of them will not be so obvious):

I forgot to mention, Aa Aah was not supposed to be part of the medley.
I have just decided that everything I do will start with Anbe Aruyire
intro I made(Rahman sir's voice).

Some of you did come close, it is just all the Hindi movies of Rahman
A-Z, there are a couple of exceptions.

1.1947 Earth - Raat ki daldal
2.Bombay - Ek ho gaye hum aur tum
3.Bose - Durga pooja
4.Chor chor - Theme
5.Daud - Theme
6.Dil hi dil mein - Chand aya hai
7.Dil se - Chaiya chaiya
8.Dilne jise apna kaha - Zindagi hai dua
9.Doli saja ke rakhna - Taram pum
10.Duniya dilwalon ki - Mustafa mustafa
11.Hindustani - Maya machinda
12.Humse hai muqabala - Muqabala muqabala
13.Jeans - Tauba tauba
14.Kabhi na kabhi - Mere yaara dildara
15.Khel khiladi ka - Dil se dil zara
16.Kisna - My dream comes true
17.Lagaan - O rey chori
18.Lakeer - Offo jalta hai
19.Love birds - Samba samba
20.Love you hamesha - Gup chup batein
21.Mangal Pandey - Main vari vari
22.Meenaxi - Dhuan dhuan
23.Mr.Romeo - Pas aaja balam
24.Nayak - Rukhi sukhi roti
25.One 2 ka 4 - I'm sorry
26.Priyanka - Koi yahan roopmati
27.Pukar - Sunta hai mera khuda
28.Rangeela - Tanha tanha
29.Roja - Yeh haseen vadiyan
30.Saathiya - Saathiya
31.Sapnay - Ek bagiya mein
32.Swades - Yuhi chala chal
33.Taal - Ishq bina (sad)
34.Tehzeeb - Na shiqwa hota
35.Thakshak - Boondon se batein
36.The legend of Bhagat Singh - Sarfaroshi ki tammana
37.Tu hi mera dil - Tu hi mera dil
38.Muthu maharaja - Koi samjhade
39.Vishwavidhata - Jaan tum ho
40.Yuva - Kabhi neem neem
41.Zubeidaa - Mehendi hai rachnewali
42.Rang de basanti - Rang de basanti (Newly added)

So, congratulate yourself if you got them all right, and if you didn't
, I don't blame you, there were some tricky ones.

Exceptions: Fiza is ommited because it did not really have any
interlude, Muthu Maharaja is misplaced because I had it in a different
folder, due to its lyrics.

The story:

I had been planning to do a medley of Rahman songs for a long time,
but I have always been putting if off because his music is so
versatile that it would be impossible to make a clean and smooth
medley. Finally when I heard Manish's Swades theme, I decided to give
it a try. Of course, there is the dilemma of deciding what songs to
use. I decided I was just going to concentrate on the Hindi movies,
since it is a smaller library compared to Tamil. I decided to use one
song from each movie... so there it is.. some 42 songs.. around 21
minutes and the best part is they came out very well, clean and
smooth. I have never done so much editing in my life before... over 2
overs of sheer editing.

Insha'allah, I'm planning to extend it to 60 or 80 minutes, that way
it can be burned on a CD - 80 mins of pure bliss.

p.s. It is good to see that RDB is getting a lot of positive reviews,
we need a hit in Hindi. It is releasing tommorow here, in California,
I'll catch it tommorow.

regards,
Wasim.

[arr] A little trivia

2006-01-25 Thread kaissiom
Hello fellow Rahmaniacs.

I heard Manish's Swades theme yesterday and was inspired by the loops,
so decided to play with a few songs... and the end product... a medley
of about 40 songs(each from a different movie), lasting 21 minutes.
See if you can identify all the songs and the movie, and tell if it is
the interlude or the beginning, etc..Some are very obvious, others are
not, gauge you knowledge of these gems... I hope all the people in
this group know these songs, unless you are a NEW Rahman fan.

http://hyperupload.com/download/c8843938/Medley64K.mp3.html

Do provide comments as I would like to know if you guys liked it or
not. I'm posting a low quality version to save space, if you guys
like I can post a higher quality version later.

p.s. I'm planning to do the following BGMs
1.Meenaxi
2.Tehzeeb
3.1947 Earth

p.p.s. Can't wait until I watch Rang De Basanti.

Regards,
Wasim.

[arr] This is interesting...... + update on BGMs.

2006-01-19 Thread kaissiom
Hey guys,

I came across this one site and not only found it usefull but very
interesting. Thought I should share...seem likes Bollywood is pretty
harsh about giving awards. Rahman sir seems to have most awardsit
actually ends with "and many more awards". Seems like many composers
had to struggle for years before they could get a chance or they could
score a hit. I also learned/compared a lot about many other
MD's...did you guys know before becoming a composer Ismail Darbar
played Violin for many MD'sincluding Rahman. After reviewing many
MDs' bios, I found Naushad saab closest to Rahman. I didn't know much
about Illayaraja, but now I know he is a genius in his own league, I
guess every composer is... oh, do check out the last paragraph on
Illayaraja (in context to Rahman.) and I insist you check out Himesh
Reshmaiya. Alright, enough of my rambling... here's the site...

http://www.hindilyrix.com/musicians/

and regarding the BGM's I have a bad news... I was going to do
Rangeela and Daud, turns out that they are not true surround sound
meaning voiceless are not possible. In the meanwhile, I had got my
hands on Thenaali, ripped some BGMs, it doesn't have too many
BGMs...more like 8 or 9 in total. I don't know if I should upload
those or not... let me know and I will upload them if you guys want.

p.s. Hey AJ could you also try to rip Rangeela or Daud, who
knows...may be I have fake 5.1s, although I think they are originals.
And I can't recall if you did Dil se.., I know I played around with
a couple tracks in Dil se, but I didn't do the BGMs. So, is Dil se
pending? I'm going to do Earth, let's hope it's 5.1 and I will do Dil
se if it not already done. Let me know, thanks.

regards.

[arr] Re: Jeans BGMs - missing ones

2006-01-12 Thread kaissiom
Wow, Aravind. You cought me there. I respect your eye/ear for
details. You see I'm like that too. I know these BGMs and I have
ommitted them on purpose. You see what happens is when a movie is
done in sync sound, like Lagaan and Swades, we are able to extract
every single BGM, even if it's 10 seconds long, without any problem.
Jeans is an older movie and is not done in sync sound. So, the BGMs
have additional sounds in the Background. It takes an average of 3 to
4 hours to rip the background score from a movie, and maybe additional
hour to edit them. First I have to watch the entire movie and rip the
selectvie parts, then edit out the beginning and end, and in some
cases like the The Fake BGM it is actually a mixture of 3 BGMs at
different points in the movie.

So, the BGMs you mentioned could have been ommitted for multiple
reasons. And I'm picky about that myself. No matter how beautiful
the BGM is, sometimes the additional sounds are put it in the
background and all you hear is the additional sounds, or your
attention is grabbed by the additional sounds. The Hospital BGM you
mentioned... I had actually ripped that...but I eventually dropped it
in the editing phase. It has a lot of beeps from the machine they
were using on her. The BGM where he gets mad at the surgeons was
recorded but was dropped in editing, because it is in a long room and
Rahman sir has used the echo effect so you can hear everything they
are saying, again spoiling the BGM. I Think I had ripped about 26
BGMs to start with, but I ended up with only 17, and that is common
with non-sync movies.

I hope you understand... the BGMs themselves are beutiful and can be
enjoyed while watching a movie, but they don't sound right with
additional sounds when you just listen to them on winamp.

regards,
Wasim.

but, i noticed that some of the very good BGMs - like Grandma admitted
in hospital (before the escape scene), Prashanth argues (when
prashanth argues with the doctors about the mistake), Return to
Chennai etc. - are missing it would be really nice of u if u could
rip these also...

[arr] Re: Jeans BGMs (voiceless) - try rapidshare.

2006-01-10 Thread kaissiom
Wow, that was an unexpected response. There seems to be considerable
amount of dowloads or "attempted" downloads. But as usual some people
are having problem downloading, I'm uploading the same to rapidshare.
Hope one of these two work for all of you. In the mean while, I
request Neil and other who can... to share it on their server. I'm
planning to have my own dedicated Rahman server pretty soon, where
I'll share all my past and present offerings.

Rapidshare: http://rapidshare.de/files/10801393/Jeans_BGM.zip.html

Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XTC1SNFE

If for some reason you are still unable to download, please e-mail me
and I'll forward you the zip file.

p.s. Neil, haven't heard from you in a while, eagerly waiting for your
site, and the server plans are still pending.

regards.

Re: [arr] Saathiya BGMs (voiceless) -- INDIAN BGM Coming soon..

2006-01-10 Thread kaissiom
Hey No Problem man, just doing public service. I'm glad to just be
part of this wonderful group where we can share so much about the SHY
one. Thanks to all the people involved in this group...even the
silent members.

p.s. Found something interesting while ripping Saathiya... for one of
the market sequences, he used the loop that appears in the beginning
of Bombay Dreams.
