I've never seen that kind of question...so I don't know.

Anybody from Cisco want to take a crack at the fundamental question -- if
you have an Associate-level cert, and pass one of the designated
Professional-level exams, does your Associate-level cert get updated, even
if it hasn't expired? Or does it update iff it has already expired?

FWIW, I just ran into the following: when you take the SECUR
642-501, CSPFA 642-521, or CSVPN 642-511 exams and you are a
CCNA or CCDA recert candidate, if you pass the exam your NA or DA
is recertified. I haven't got the time to chase other exams, but
somebody else might.

What exactly does this mean? I got my CCNA last fall. Does this mean the
recert date has been moved up to today, plus 3 years, since I just passed
the CSVPN 641-511 exam?

Boson's guarantee is if you fail Twice within 90 days after purchasing the
practice exam. So if you fail once and pass the second time you won't get
 you $40 back.

I didn't do the new CCDA but I did the CCDP/CCNP recerts just a while ago.

As the CCDA is only an one exam test, it might not bother you if you miss
 your deadline.

However, if your company needs your certification for their Partner
designation then I would suggest studying for a week, taking it around the
21st and if you fail you have time to recover, study the material you think
you had issues with and then retake the exam.

Cisco exam retakes require a 72 hour wait so in your case don't take the
exam on the 26th since that would take you into the weekend. We don't
have
any exam centers here that are open on the weekend. If you do then your
latest date for a first attempt would be the 27th. Best call Prometric to
confirm when a retake is possible.

As I said, taking an $150 test just to see it might seem more expensive
than
the Boson but if you need it then in my opinion its a cost of doing
business - and besides you would have to spend $300 anyway to get your $40
 back from Boson.

If this is a personal cert then I wouldn't personally worry about it.
Take it when you feel that you're prepared. (unless you don't want to
change
 your resume...)

Group,

Have been reading a lot lately on this new CCDA exam here and on
brainbuzz.com? Is it really a beast? Can any one concur?

Most seemed to have failed the first time even though they had all the
right materials/books? What is the reason? I myself need to take this
exam before Sept.1st and kind of getting scared regarding this exam.!!
Why should it be more difficult than the CID exam? The CID exam was
pretty straighforward.

Can Boson help here.?? Boson guarantees that you will pass the exam if
you buy their exam??

Any one??

Renewal requires certification holders to register for - and pass - the
appropriate Cisco recertification exams.
CCNA and CCDA recertification takes place when a candidate passes the
current certification exam or any new exam, bearing the prefix 642, at the
Professional or Cisco Qualified Specialist level.

in an Adobe file FAQ the following is said:

FAQs-RECERTIFICATION EXAMS AND AGREEMENT
18. When will the recertification exams be available?
The CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, and Cisco Qualified Specialist designation
recertification
exams are available now. CCIP recertification requirements are in the
process
of being defined and will
be announced by the end of 2003. Candidates may renew their Associate level
exams by passing any
Cisco Qualified Specialist or Professional level exam with a 642 prefix or
by
obtaining a higher level
certification.

Having recently recertified both my CCDP/CCNP, my CCNA and CCDA have been
extended to the dates that my CCDP/CCNP expire.

Unfortunately it says 642 exam, the poster below completed a 641
exam was that a typo? I can't find 641-511.

An interesting question is how long say, is CCNA extended? Completing one
642
exam doesn't make a CCNP.
It has not been the case that an individual exam had a life except when a
new version is trotted out.
None of the print I've read so far says that the CCNA would be upgraded for
3
years - but that seems to be the only timeframe.

Again, so what does this mean? Can I recertify before my certification
expires? What if I re-take the CCNA exam now? Does the valid certification
time limit start from the time that I take the new exam? I don't have to
wait until my certification expires before I renew my certification, do I?
If not, then why would a professional level exam not renew my

What exactly are you lacking experience with; IPv6, VoIP, SAFE, Network
Design?
This new exam is much more difficult than the previous version. As a
matter of opinion, too difficult for an associate exam!

If you haven't run across it yet, I also wrote an exam review located
here;

Have you also read Pricilla's book--Top Down Network Design?

Appreciate your feedback Willy.Thank you.

Question: What do you mean when you say that you have given this course
already a couple of times? Do you mean you are a Cisco trainer, a CCSP
sort of?

Any pointers that you can provide? NDA withstanding ofcourse!!

This is the only certification left for me and the one I need to have my
official CCDP cert. mailed to me and thus I have been searching the web
for any useful info. pertaining to this exam?

What are the type of questions, ex. a long case study for me to read
first and then answer questions based on that case study? How many?
Arcane questions on SAFE and IPV6?? What's the format like?

Any specific topics that I need to dwell on?

I am using the Cisco Press CCDA exam certification guide for the old
exam
as well as the new Sybex book by Lammle and Barkl (not very useful
IMHO).

Are there anything else like exams/notes that I can buy that would be
helpful?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

CN

We don't have
any exam centers here that are open on the weekend. If you do then your
latest date for a first attempt would be the 27th. Best call Prometric to
confirm when a retake is possible.

As I said, taking an $150 test just to see it might seem more expensive than
the Boson but if you need it then in my opinion its a cost of doing
business - and besides you would have to spend $300 anyway to get your $40
back from Boson.

If this is a personal cert then I wouldn't personally worry about it.
Take it when you feel that you're prepared. (unless you don't want to change
your resume...)

CCIP recertification requirements are in the process
of being defined and will
be announced by the end of 2003. Candidates may renew their Associate level
exams by passing any
Cisco Qualified Specialist or Professional level exam with a 642 prefix or by
obtaining a higher level
certification.

None of the print I've read so far says that the CCNA would be upgraded for 3
years - but that seems to be the only timeframe.

I am using the Cisco Press CCDA exam certification guide for the old exam
as well as the new Sybex book by Lammle and Barkl (not very useful IMHO).

Are there anything else like exams/notes that I can buy that would be
helpful?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

CN

+0200 One of the reasons is that there is very little material
available that covers this new exam. A lot of the stuff is still for the
old one. Combined with the fact that the course changed about 85% from
the old version you might understand why some people fail the test.
Having given this course already a couple of times I can say that its
difficulty is in the broad range of subjects that it covers. Anything
from routing, switching, IPv6, content networking, voice and so on can
appear on the exam. Some of the topics will be very new to typical CCDA
candidates (only CCNA level knowledge). It also focuses on the design
model used in CISCO SAFE architecture. I feel the course and the exam
are a big step forward compared to the old DCN and CID exams. Welcome to
the 21st century ;-) Cheers, Willy -Original Message-

John,

I have come across ODR in production a couple of times. Up until
recently I had thought that ODR worked quite well for hub and spoke
topologies...

My most recent involvement with ODR occurred when replacing a 2621 with
a 3745, which was the hub of the hub-and-spoke topology. I quickly
learned that the 3745 doesn't enable CDP by default. I was also reminded
that Cisco doesn't save configuration commands that are considered
default...

What ended up happening was CDP was not enabled by default and when I
enabled it (cdp run) the command wouldn't save because it was
considered a default command! Each time the router booted CDP was
disabled again!

I recommend to everyone that ODR not be used in a Cisco production
environment. You never know when an IOS (platform?) bug will render your
WAN unusable!

In addition to that, how many times have you heard that we should disable
CDP for security reasons? I'm sure there are some companies that aren't
allowed to run CDP for this reason. Then again, that's usually a big company
that probably wouldn't want to run ODR in the first place.

Sure Friend!

Author: Priscilla Oppenheimer (---.ashlandfiber.net)

The new CCDA course is very different. I haven't taken the test but I bet
it's very different also. Here is a synopsis of the syllabus for the new
course:

The first module is on design methodologies. It teaches top-down network
design. The recommended reading is Top-Down Network Design. :-) Seriously,
that's what the course suggests.

The second module is on structuring and modularizing the network. Although
it teaches the classic 3-layer hierarchical model (core, distribution, and
access), it also focuses on Cisco's new SAFE architecture. See here for a
SAFE study guide:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/largeent/issues/security/safe.html

The third module is on campus design. If you've taken any of Cisco's other
tests, you should be OK, with this. It covers STP, VLANs, VTP, ISL, 802.1Q.

The fourth module is on WANs. Same stuff you've heard before probably.

The fifth module is IP addressing. Only new thing is a new focus on IPv6.

The sixth module is on routing protocols. Top-Down Network Design would meet
your needs there with a couple exceptions. The new course covers IS-IS and
On Demand Routing (ODR). (Does anyone really use ODR, I wonder??)

The seventh module is on security. SAFE should help there.

The eight module is on Voice Transport in gory details. Get some voice books
or read up on voice stuff and Cisco's AVVID here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/netsol/netwarch/ns19/net_solution_home.html

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/sc/rel9/soln/voip20/impl/scigdesn.htm

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/788/pkt-voice-general/7.html

The ninth module is on network management.

CCDA: changes in syllabus. [7:72380]

2003-07-16 Thread MCMORDIE Shane (BMB)
Hi,

I did CCDA in mid-2000 and would like to recertify in the next month.

Can anyone point me to a summary of the syllabus changes between the old
CCDA (640-441 exam) and the current CCDA (640-861)?

In other words, what new stuff do I need to focus on? Is the new
edition of the Todd Lammle CCDA book a must to buy, or can I get
through with my older edition?

Thanks,

Shane

Group,

To answer the question regarding Knowledgenet from thread below...I've
recently purchased a few courses from Knowledgenet - cvoice, dqos and evodd.
It's basically 6 weeks of self/web-based study with hands on lab scenarios
and sample exam questions for each class. My first course was cvoice. I
went through the coursework just about everyday for six weeks. At the end
of the six weeks I sat the cvoice exam and passed - the only material used
was from knowledgenet and the cisco website - a little hand-on experience
helped as well. I'm in the process of sitting the exam for dqos - this
upcoming Friday...

Yes, It's just one exam to get CCDA. Lots of exams to get CCDP.

Do you know what the new exam number will be or is?

I think it's the same answer as the one above. It just came out but I don't
think you can still take the old one, as I implied before.

Cisco shouldn't change the exam for a while. It took them years to do the
development on this class and test. And they did a great job, from what I
can tell.

I was looking at taking the following course, what do
 you think:

 http://www.knowledgenet.com/courselibrary/cisco/courses/desgn_pf.jsp

An advantage to taking the class is that you will get the 1,000s of pages
that Cisco wrote for the course manual.

I don't know much about Knowledgenet. It appears to not be a real,
carbon-based classroom where you go in person to the site and can easily
interract with the instructor and other people taking the class, which is a
major benefit in a design class. In fact, the exercises for DESGN are
designed to be done with a team. Can you do that with this Web-based
training?

It's possible that they do a good job with their Web-based training and
simulate the real world well. I just don't know.

Cisco recommends that DESGN be taught with a simulator that will let you do
some design tasks. They recommend OPNET. Does Knowledgenet let you use
OPNET? I would ask a few questions before shelling out a lot of money for
the Knowlegenet course. Has anyone else here on GroupStudy used them?

If you do use them, let us know how it goes. Thanks and good luck with your

Nothing is out yet for the new version of the test,
as far as I know. Your
best bet would be to take the instructor-led class,
  if you can afford it.
With a good instructor, I think DESGN could be a
  really great class. It's
got tons of meat now, much more than before. It has
  a big focus on systems
analysis as it is taught at universities, as a real
  discipline, not just a
bunch of hand-waving. The class also has a huge
  scope, covering almost
everything you ever wanted to know related to campus
  and enterprise
networks, from business (which they call social or
  organizational) goals,
  technical goals, topologies, architectures, modular
  design, addressing
  (including IPv6), routing, voice, network
  management, and security.

One focus is on the SAFE architecture, so look that
  up on Cisco's site and
learn it. There's also some AVVID stuff

Many of the course modules are partially based on my
  book Top-Down Network
Design. Many of the modules say that Top-Down
  Network Design is recommended
reading. Top-Down Network Design doesn't cover some
  newer topics, though,
such as SAFE and AVVID, although it did cover voice
  in a limited fashion,
since Cisco has been harping on that for years now.
  DESGN covers voice in
gory detail, however. It seems to have all of the
  old CVOICE course in it.

Each module in DESGN has many chapters, each of
  which is literally hundreds
of pages long. The person turning it into a book
  (not me unfortunately) is
going to have a heyday. :-)

I haven't taken the new test, but if it really tests
  all that's in the
course, it's going to be one of the hardest tests
  out there (and that's a
good thing. It's about time design got some respect.
  :-)

Anyway, bottom line: if you can take the older
  version of the test, then
there's lots of study materials. If you have to take
  the newer version, then
you should take the instructor-led DESGN class or
  wait a few months for
  study material.

I recently used the knowledgenet BSCI course. I used it as a supplement to
my studying and not my main source. it was very good in explaining the
technology and hands on labs just not sure that it covered all of the

I signed up for the exam at www.computer.org this is the IEEE site. If you
join as a member of IEEE $100.00 US fee/yr you get access to the courses
that they have available. I paid $44.00 only since it is prorated over the
year. I did BSCI they also have Advanced Cisco wireless and other tech
courses. It is a very cheap resource for studying $44.00 all you can study
not bad.

If you don't have the experience with Cisco's AVVID, SAFE and voice

 CCDA DESGN 640-861 exam.

I took the exam late last year when it was in beta and it's a real bear

I wrote an exam review you might want to look at for more information.

With a good instructor, I think DESGN could be a really great class.
 It's
got tons of meat now, much more than before. It has a big focus on
 systems
analysis as it is taught at universities, as a real discipline, not just
 a
bunch of hand-waving. The class also has a huge scope, covering almost
everything you ever wanted to know related to campus and enterprise
networks, from business (which they call social or organizational)
 goals,
technical goals, topologies, architectures, modular design, addressing
(including IPv6), routing, voice, network management, and security.

One focus is on the SAFE architecture, so look that up on Cisco's site
 and
learn it. There's also some AVVID stuff

Many of the course modules are partially based on my book Top-Down
 Network
Design. Many of the modules say that Top-Down Network Design is
 recommended
reading. Top-Down Network Design doesn't cover some newer topics,
 though,
such as SAFE and AVVID, although it did cover voice in a limited
 fashion,
since Cisco has been harping on that for years now. DESGN covers voice
 in
gory detail, however. It seems to have all of the old CVOICE course in
 it.

Each module in DESGN has many chapters, each of which is literally
 hundreds
of pages long. The person turning it into a book (not me unfortunately)
 is
going to have a heyday. :-)

I haven't taken the new test, but if it really tests all that's in the
course, it's going to be one of the hardest tests out there (and that's
 a
good thing. It's about time design got some respect. :-)

Anyway, bottom line: if you can take the older version of the test, then
there's lots of study materials. If you have to take the newer version,
 then
you should take the instructor-led DESGN class or wait a few months for
 study material.

So what is the current exam number?

640-861 DESGN

Is it just one exam that I have to take?

Can you do that with this Web-based training?

It's possible that they do a good job with their Web-based training and
simulate the real world well. I just don't know.

Cisco recommends that DESGN be taught with a simulator that will let you do
some design tasks. They recommend OPNET. Does Knowledgenet let you use
OPNET? I would ask a few questions before shelling out a lot of money for
the Knowlegenet course. Has anyone else here on GroupStudy used them?

If you do use them, let us know how it goes. Thanks and good luck with your
CCDA.

CCDA case study in Exam [7:59068]

2002-12-12 Thread Sliver
Hi GroupStudy,

I heard that there is case studies in the CCDA exam.

I would like to know how does it works? Is it that they gave you a case and
the next few question will ask you some multiple choice questions that is
related to that case?

Can I go back to the case study during those questions?

Thanx..

2002-12-12 Thread Walker, James - Is
This test has multiple case studies and multiple questions per case study.

Yes, you can refer back to the case studies for all the questions.

You will lose average of 3 min. per question as you have to refer back to
the case study.
After spending over an hour on case studies (hint hint), my head was aching
after the exam.

IMO, CCIE written was easier.

I wouldn't have minded it as much if they organized the questions better.

Question About Case Study 1
Question About Case Study 1
Case Study 2
Question About Case Study 2
Question About Case Study 2
Question About Case Study 2

But on my test it was all over the place. E.g.

Case Study 1 - Question About Case Study 1

2002-12-12 Thread tu do
Sliver,
That was the worst one I took. And, I hate it because of case study
questions. As a non-native english speaker, I spent 50% of my time to read
the cases over and over. I read the questions and answered them in less than
30% of remain time. Passed with 912/1000. For each of unclear questions (or
answers) to me, I didn't spend longer then 15 to think. Guessed and clicked
to save time going with the others.
For this kind of exams; the more I spend for them when sitting, the worse
result I get. I use this tactic to avoid the long reading questions too.
CIT and CID are harder but I like them better.
Good luck,
TuDo

Subject: CCDA Certification Updates

On November 12, 2002 Cisco announces its redesigned CCDA(r)
certification track, which features the new CCDA exam # 640-861 and
the new course, Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN).
The new DESGN five-day, instructor-led course will teach how to design
Cisco network infrastructures.

The existing DCN course will retire on January 6, 2003, and the
existing DCN exam #640-441 will retire on March 5, 2003.

A CCDA certification is achieved upon successful completion of the
DESGN exam, and is valid for two years. The recommended training
includes CCNA Basics and DESGN.

The CCDA program is the first step toward achieving CCDP(r)
certification (CCNA(r) certification is also required), and a
redesigned CCDP track exam and course will be released around February
2003. The CCDP related course, Designing Cisco Network Service
Architectures (ARCH), builds upon the DESGN foundation, teaching
designers how to architect network services and solutions using that
infrastructure. While the DESGN course addresses mainly infrastructure
and network service issues, the ARCH will address mainly network
services and solutions.

What's New in DESGN

Because networks and network services are growing exponentially
complex, designing a network separately becomes impossible. Instead,
the network is divided into modules such as the enterprise edge,
campus, and service provider edge, with each module designed
separately. Designers must ensure the entire solution responds
optimally to business and technical needs, and that the network is
highly available. A strategic network solution requires content
networking, storage application networking, and voice applications.
Successful network designs require critical modern infrastructure
services (such as wireless access) and network services (such as
security and management, quality of service, and multicast).

Also, the old class taught design methods that could be applied

CCDA Exam [7:52929]

2002-09-09 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi

Passed the CCDA exam today. Passed with the highest mark I ever received for
a cisco exam. All I can say for prospective exam-takers ... is don't take
anything for granted. I didn't and felt sorta relieved with myself that I
actually didn't bother to really follow the new exam Guideline List. As
always it pays to know more than just the required things. Some questions
were absolute classics in my mind.

Well that's as much as I can say without violating the NDA.

Thanks
Manish

CCNP and CCDA... [7:42684]

2002-04-26 Thread Jeffrey W. Hall

I would like to say that I've browsed through many news and web groups, but
you guys are the top I've seen. I find myself being intimidated reading
your indepth responses.

I finished up my CCNP last week and finished my CCDA exam this morning. I
plan on sitting the CCDP exam in 2 weeks and taking the CCIE written in 2
months after a short Army paid fun-filled trip out east. ha ha

I feel fortunate that I am able to do this type of work for 12-14+ hours a
day and then come home and spend several more hours learning from you guys.

Thanks again and wish me luck!

Yeah... Groupstudy rocks!!! Best group I've found on the web or
otherwise When you got people like Howard Berkowitz, Priscilla
Oppenheimer, the oldest CCNP on earth, and of course, ME (LOL) lurking in
the shadows, you'll almost always find a good discussion about RTP priority
limitations, frame formats, routing design problems and tips, etc..

Even tho it's been a year since I finished CCNP, I still check the group
everyday just to keep on my toes, and to keep learning. (esp. while
studying for CCIE... hehe)

Enjoy!

You sound just like my dad Tim. No offence meant - Some great things have

I agree with the sentiment, but sometimes it's nice to know (for no real
reason).
I'll change your statement to:

If you know the material that is covered on the exam then you will Pass.
If on average, you know 65% of the material then you will probably also
pass, as you have to get 755/1000 and you start with 300 (or do you).
If you know less than 65% of the material, you've still got a chance because
a majority are 'multiple-guess'
So around 50% of the knowledge may do it.

So, if you've half a mind to get studying that might be enough!

If I was interviewing I'd like to see grades up in the late 80's or 90's on
the certificates.

Short answer - 755

RE: Grade to get CCDA [7:36636]

2002-02-28 Thread Tim Medley

I have never been on a job interview where anyone asked to see my cisco
certification certificate or asked my score on an exam. I have been
asked my testing ID to verify that I did indeed have the cert I claimed
(crazy interview, guy had just interviewed a guy who said he was a CCIE,
turns out he wasn't).

On interviews I've been asked what certification I currently hold, them
based on my certs I've been asked related questions to see what I really
know or don't know.

When we interview someone for a job at work, we ask the person what
their technical strengths are and ask detailed technical questions; if a
person says they know something, we're going to dig until we determine
if the person really knows what their talking about or if they're full
of @!#$.

Our approach is similar but not as brutal as the way Cisco interviews;
When I was on a telephone interview with Cisco and the interviewer says,
so it says on your resume, you know something about Ethernet... tell me
everything you know about Ethernet. When I was done he started drilling
into me about Ethernet; I thought the CIA was questioning me. The guy
repeated this with every keyword and buzzword I had on my resume. Then
he drilled me for details on specific projects and accomplishments that
I had listed on my resume; asking about how i've designed a network,
equipment I've used and why.

Thanks Tim Medley, well put

Mario, you should really concentrate on learning the technology, be able to
understand how it can be utilized in many different
situations and when you take the test, you don't have to think about the
passing grades.

My two cents.

JB,

Mario, you should really concentrate on learning the technology, be able
to
understand how it can be utilized in many different
situations and when you take the test, you don't have to think about the
 passing grades.

All Cisco exams are Pass or Fail exams. It's that simple, if you know
the material that is covered on the exam then you will Pass; if you do
not know the material then you will Fail.

Your focus should not be how you can skim by and just barely pass the
  exam.

If you don't really know the concepts and technologies and just cram so
that you pass the exam, what good is the certification then? Just
because you have a certification doesn't mean that someone is going to
hire you and throw money at you.

Employers look at certifications as a base line, a ccda should know xyz
concepts and know how to accomplish xyz tasks. If you can't perform at
the baseline level you're not going to be around at that job long or you
  may not even get hired.

With the way the Tech job market is these days, you need to be able to
differentiate yourself from your peers. Paper Certs are not a way to do
  this.

Please stop asking for minimum scores to pass or the number of questions

Mario,

Please forgive everyone else. They should remember that you never
know who you'll run into again, or
who might be listening. All of these guys do represent their immediate
company, and cisco. What they
should have said is, if your prepare well you'll pass. Go over the
material until you feel you know it like the
back of your hand. The test will prove, that you do or you don't.

SoQuit winning and study, Set a date and
be prepared! ;-)

CCDA passed [7:36543]

2002-02-26 Thread Gaz

Decided it was a shame not to do the couple of exams to get to CCDP, so got
hold of the Cisco Press DCN book last week and took the exam today.
Managed a 922, although I wasn't even sure that I'd passed as I hit the
final NEXT button. I was totally bored through the whole of the book and the
exam did the same for me. The feeling that you're putting in gibberish, just
because that was the answer when the test was written is not a good one.

Not to worry, I'm hoping the CID is a little better, but I hear it may not
be? I get the book next week - wishing for some interesting topics but not
holding my breath.

2002-02-16 Thread ko haag

Hi all,

I just took the CCDA exam and it really sucked! The boson exam did not
help at all and i have all of them. Lucky for me I still passed. The
Cisco press helped but doesn't cover most of the areas. Most of the
test was just reading, understand and assuming what should be done. .

Now, is the CID exam going to be in the same format? Any ideas out
there what study material should I use.

how you will succeed if you don't have lots of reading before you get into
real practical...?? huh...
you got the point, one reference book is not enough.
the CID book from ciscopress is pretty good; again, find something else too,
such as the cisco website, it has lots of materials, that's my
recommendation.

If you are talking about just books and study guides then Amazon.com and
barnesandnoble.com can't be beat. Most of the time they will even have used
materials for almost half off the cost of the new. Just make sure you are
getting the exact same thing. I've never really needed any more than one of
the Cisco press books and an Exam Cram.

CCDA [7:29348]

Team,
I will be taking the CCDA test next Saturday, I am studying the followings
Books from Cisco Press (Top-Down Network Design and CCDA Exam Certification
Guide)..
My questions are the following:

Are these books enough to pass the test and use the knowledge in the future
Will the Boson test help me to verifiy my knowledge before taking the test
Any tips of how to approach all the scenarios without wasting a lot of time
in each one

Thanks for taking your time (I know is valuable) in responding...

try the exam essentials from certify.com they where great for the CCNA, and

if not already got it. The CCDA is harder than the CCNA, a lot of Case

yeah ditto that, if u want to design nets the da and dp are the way to go,
if u want to maintain/support, the na and np are preferable. I would
probably try for da and na before going to either the np or dp, for
breadth reasons.
