Hi, I found this thread and this: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107180-Synology-7-9-1-packages Both are discontinued and offer no Repo für DSM5. Why are all packages only for DSM6 here: http://server.pinkdot.nl/sspks/ ? Is there a way to Update LMS on DS214play with DSM5? Until I got some issues with spotty plugin I've been happy with the quite old 7.7.3-package of synology, but now ... Would be happy for some advice. Thanx. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
Hi, first of all, thanks for providing the beta version to keep my LMS alive. The official release 7.9.0 stopped working since someday I upgraded to DSM 6. The beta version of LMS (7.9.1-1492077569) is working well (almost) but it crashes if I tried to play a folder from my Squeezebox Radio. When I press the Play button on Squeezebox Radio when selecting a folder, LMS stops after few seconds when playing the first song in the selected folder, but if I entered the folder and select the first song then press the Play button, it works fine. The log only show some warning indicating fixed-point overflow, do you have any idea to fix it? I installed LMS on Synology NAS DS1813+ with DSM 6.1.3-15152 update 1. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
My apologies if this has been mentioned before... I did a quick search in the thread before posting but didn't find anything relevant. To the best of my knowledge, DSDPlayer plugin only works on Intel-powered Synology NASes, any update on this? I've tried setting up a repo using an armv5el binary (the one by Ralphy, here https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/utility/), it installs OK on a DSM5 DS212j but the DSDplay plugin page says that the version installed is not compatible with the server ("DSDPlayer does not currently include a version that supports your server"). Any ideas? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance. Synology has increased the security level, which might be bugging us. I need more time to look into this issue, as well as the transcoding issue. This includes all architectures. LmsUpdate will only see new light when Synology decides to update their current Beta package to the 7.9.1 branch! LmsRepack = 7.9.1 = slimdevices nigthly updates on a regular basis. Currently for ARM and x86_64 based nas. Only DSM6 (6.0-7275 and up). This means you could try LmsRepack on your Synology DS1815+. Stop the current installation of LmsUpdate and test if LmsRepack runs on your system. LmsRepack doesn't use your current cache folder, so you will loose all settings, plug-ins and library. I have a repo only, which you could add to your package center and see if you find LmsRepack in the community tab. This might not be the case because the repo software is not that good (still looking for an alternative). If it does, install it. If it doesn't, just download it like you used to do with LmsUpdate. Ok, updated the package. Stopped it in the package center. Deleted all the .db files from the Cache directory and restarted the package. This is the 3rd time I'm doing this without any success. No no, this plugin doesn't do anything for me. I've never even really used it so I just disabled it. But for some reason I'm having other weird issues with LMS recently, like artwork not showing on my mobile controller and my ratings not registering with TrackStat. Also, what I need Windows access to the cache directory is for muso, which is a controller I use on my laptop. So yes, I'm always going to need that access to the Cache directory. Would it be possible to have that location in a separate file, like cache.xml or something? So you don't have to keep making these custom builds for me? Thanks very much. I checked Task Scheduler and the only things in there are my backup jobs. Nothing that might start and restart the LMS packages (yes, the other package is still installed, by the way). I also checked and I do have the Full Text Search plugin and went ahead and disabled it. What am I losing by disabling that? Anything important? One other thing to note about the crashes is that they seem to happen around the time I initiate a muso LMS import. That might be why the last thing we see in the logs is TrackStat activity. I'll ask the muso developer to look into that as well, see if he can bring some new perspective into the whole issue. Also, were you able to think about why LMS itself may be reporting inflated track numbers? Thanks again for all your efforts. Morbeas wrote: > Sure thing. Can you give me your email address so I can send you the log > file? Hi Morbeas, the logs you've sent me don't show very much. It looks like there is an issue with one of Erland's plugins. The serverlog shows that the last action came from Trackstat, before LMS was restarted. This is something to start with. Code: [17-03-11 18:28:52.8880] Plugins::TrackStat::Storage::refreshTracks (1242) TrackStat: Synchronizing TrackStat data, please wait... [17-03-11 18:29:58.6095] main::init (388) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.0, 1488878280, Wed Mar 8 04:07:31 UTC 2017) perl 5.024000 - x86_64-linux Also check if the other LMS instance is still installed? Check Task Manager if it is part of a start-stop script. If it starts it would interfere with LmsRepack. Both use the same processes. I can't help you with the Trackstat issue if that seems to be the case. Only thing is that you can check is Trackstat has the permissions to do its tasks. But to be honest, I wouldn't know why it would make LMS crash. Other thing I found is the issue with the Full text search plugin: if enabled, please disable it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
I'm happy to report that everything seems to be working fine and I can use muso again! :) There was an instance once where the package stopped on its own for no reason but I restarted it and things went back to normal. So when an update is released, you'll have to update this package as well, correct? That seems like a pain in the ass thing for you to have to deal with. :( Is there anything that can be done about that? Thanks again for all your work, pink. Really appreciate it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*
Just as an FYI, the first screenshot shows a wildcard search from within DSM (File Station) for all files ending with a .flac extension which shows the result as 24,501. (my music library is all FLAc with the exception of 2 albums (17 tracks). The second screenshot is the same search with MP3 files. So as you can see, the two of them add up to 24,518, which is also the exact number reported by MusicIP (third screenshot). The last screenshot is the number reported by the new LMS installation. This was the same number reported by the original installation as well, by the way. Ok, that sounds great. I'll get everything installed and configured and let you know how it holds up. Thanks again. Now on to another problem that's been bugging me for ages. for some reason, LMS shows that I have a total of 26,194 tracks where in fact the actual number of tracks is 24,518. I have had this problem with the original installation as well. I can't remember what caused the issue but it wasn't always like this. I also run MusicIP server on my Synology and that reports the correct number of tracks as 24,518. Is there any way we can find out what causes this discrepancy? Why does LMS inflate the number like this? +---+ |Filename: Clipboard04.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22289| +---+ Morbeas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53547 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103636 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Meaning it is good to do some testing if everything is working and if you can use Muso as intended. Hello Morbeas, before we get to much off topic in the other thread, I moved the discussion to here. There are several options to give Muso access to the Cache folder. But none of the options is recommended! There are topics, just Google, to mount the system partition to your Windows machine. As said: this is NOT recommended!
