Hi Tony,
I regret to say I did not get out of the allergy situation. In fact
this year has been worse than usual, with constant chronic itching and
parasthesias. Antihistamines were losing effectiveness too. I'm now back
on fairly high dose cortisol, and that is finally helping. I've had to
do several high dose steroid "tapers" this year. I recently stopped my
thyroid hormone, as I felt it was a source of extra iodine I just can't
handle right now. And that seems to have helped a lot. I'd rather be
hypothyroid than have worms and ants crawling under my skin daily. Not
to mention the actual itching.
In other areas my knees are doing great, the arthritic joint nodes in
my hands are also much smaller. Mostly I sleep better (for me). My
peripheral neuropathy is at a low level, no longer disabling.
I do wonder though if the last injection into my cervical vertebrae
could be causing the problem I've had this year. It was done nearly 2
years ago, and I let it be done because I was assured that the iodine in
the injection would NOT get into the rest of my body. But I now wonder
if that is strictly true, surely it would "leak" eventually? It was
supposed to be a very small amount, and I didn't have any reactions
either immediately or in following months. But something is contributing
to my bucket now staying close to overflowing constantly, though I don't
actually even know if it is iodine, nickel, or just too much histamine
in foods, or something new. I'm just coping the best I can.
It may be of interest to you that I've been told that iodine allergy
is not a true IgE allergy, though it does produce mast cell
degranulation and histamine release by some other mechanism. Because it
isn't a true IgE reaction it apparently never will go away, as can
happen with other allergies, and it might even be genetic in nature
somehow.

Hi Sol,

I say this with the greatest of respect to you. Did you ever find out what the
basic cause or
trigger was to your sensitivities? And what did you do to 'get out' of that
situation.

Over the years you seemed to try every kind of treatment or protocol and seemed
to get
slammed by every one of them. I remember a bit that it revolved about iodine
and that you
found that everywhere and that kept you sensitised.

You 'sound' fine now and I would love to know what got you out of that
revolving door.

Don't take no from the doctor. I got bit by a deer tick with lyme and
my doctor refused to prescribe me any antibiotics. 3 years later and
$6,000 worth of IV's I was able to get it under control. Don't allow

Re: CS>tick bite problem

2012-11-21 Thread Lena Guyot
Hi Vicki,
Sounds like you're doing some smart things, As a chronic Lymie of 45+ years,
I'm definitely not a fan of abx, but Doxycycline, 6 week's worth, will stop
acute Lyme (recently bitten) and resolve it if administered right away.

alldaychemist.com is an offshore source (without a prescription) for generic
doxy, where I just placed an order for some to have on hand in case any of my
loved ones are ever bitten. It's a reputable source with good, reliable
products, very cheap, but shipping is high and not super fast. (Also, they've
recently switched payment methods from credit cards to money orders and such,
so less convenient) That's worrisome for your situation. If you can get even a
couple weeks of doxy from a local doctor until you can get more on your own,
that's what I would do in your situation. Most docs will prescribe doxy after
an obvious bull's eye Lyme rash, but not for long enough to truly nip it in the
bud, as experienced and recognized by most if the Lyme community.

Warning: I'm not a doc, only a lymie lab-rat, with no credentials to give
medical advice, only to share what I've learned and experienced on several Lyme
groups over 6 years.

Once this bite goes chronic and the pathogens have found their desired hiding
places, it's a much more complicated, costly, and uncertain health problem that
I wouldn't wish on anyone. You have a small, very important window of
opportunity to save yourself years of struggle and heartache. Best of luck.

Be well,
Léna

Re: CS>MSM

2012-11-21 Thread Jason R Eaton
Hi Gary:

It depends upon the clay and the individual.

The three clay blend that was mentioned earlier is a bit more pallatable than
some clays. We actually pioneered a method of dry ozonating edible clay to
improve the taste a bit.

http://www.eytonsearth.org/tecopia-essentia.php

You can view certificate of analysis and clay minerology report on several
clays we use and study above; usage information is also available.

Clay is actually much more pallatable than MSM (I take about 1/2 cup of MSM
daily).

Keep in mind that clay is not dirt or mud; when "pure" clay is mixed with
water, it creates a colloid comprised of minute and highly organized crystals.
Different clays have different particle characteristics, mineral combinations,
and particle sizes. For IBS, the larger smectite particles are ideal, because
they are not adsorbed into the system, but pass through the stomach and small
intestine into the large intestine.

Kind Regards,

Jason

Hi Gary,
The best way to vet any idea is to search archives, do your homework, and draw
your own conclusions. It's amazing how many people never use google to get more
info. Most of us have been sick, have had to do our own homework, and only take
the trouble to pass on useful remedies out of kindliness and compassion.
(usually also admitting with our info that everyone is different: caveat
emptor.)

I use the phrase 'taking the trouble', as sitting at a computer costs us energy
that is generally limited, and we're not about to engage in a major tutorial or
case-building for what we've offered. Documentation? I've got 6 years of
documentation for SO many different things, but with lousy clerical skills,
digging it up for a skeptic just isn't in my limited energy schedule, and no,
it's not my responsibility.

I guess what I'm saying is that if something resonates with you, do the
substantiating yourself. That's what most of us have had to do, sometimes at
great energy expenditure.

Be well, and be thankful for promising leads,

Re: CS>tick bite problem

2012-11-21 Thread mgperrault
Part of the tick may still be in your arm. If you swab directly with
oregano, you may overdose your skin which could create some of the
reaction. Some oils penetrate better than others. Tea tree, clove,
lavender penetrate. Mixing your oregano with jojoba and those other
oils could be a better way than straight oregano. I would be tempted to
keep it cold at first while you zap with a battery. In a few days,
alternating heat and cold could be beneficial. Isopropyl alcohol may
not be as good as vodka or everclear. Vitamin C, several grams could be
good. If you have respiratory allergic reactions, baking soda and or
choline may help. If you zapp, be aware that local burns are possible.
You can feel this happening. Avoid it by increasing the area of the
damp sponges/ paper towels or decreasing the voltage.

Go to a doc and get a month of antibiotics.  You can do all this other stuff as
well.  Take lots of probiotics if you take the antibiotics.  They are not as
dangerous as not getting them when you are bitten by a tick.

I second the CS with DMSO topically.  Since it if in your forearm, I would make
a bath with 90% CS and 10% DMSO and just submerge the whole rash for as long as
you can each day.

2012-11-21 Thread Bob Banever
If I were you I’d do two things right away. Make a paste out of activated
charcoal and tincture of lobelia, echinacia, comfrey, and lobelia
(brownrecluses.com makes a great one). I’d also apply some electricity.
Get a flashlight battery (not 9 volt, 1 ½ or 3 volt). Solder two wires to
either end, cut some sponges in 2 inch squares and wrap those sponges around
the two ends of the two wires (after you strip the ends of plastic). Afix
with a rubber band. Wet sponges and apply sponges to either side of bite or
one on top and one on the other side of forearm. Keep in place for 5
minutes then switch sponges and treat for another 5 minutes. Do this once a
day for the next 3 days. Apply paste twice a day. If you can’t get any of
these things, get some baking soda and mix with CS to a paste. Apply this
in same manner but won’t be as effective as the lobelia tincture. Good
luck.

Hi Gary:

There is quite a bit of authentic research material available. Feel free to
browse some of it here:

http://www.eytonsearth.org/bentonite.html

There is plenty of great material on our informational website.

I wrote a book about the use of therapeutic clays, which includes the
publication of several clinical studies which have been done in the past.

In my experience, all IBS can be managed with informed use of therapeutic clay,
allowing an individual the chance to actually heal the digestive system... all
but one (and I have about two decades of research experience with clays). In
some very, very rare cases, IBS can be caused by a central nervous system
disorder that is nuerological in origin. Other treatment options would have to
be considered in such a case, as ingesting therapeutic clay would not have the
desired effect.

Kind Regards,

Jason

The solution, based on my experience, is three-fold:
  1. Clay – get a high quality clay from this website:
http://www.therapy-clays.com/edible-three-clay-blend.php. Start with a teaspoon
of clay in four ounces of filtered or purified water twice a day, and increase
to as much as a tablespoon in 8oz twice a day. Stir the clay into the water and
let it sit for half an hour before drinking.
  2. Colon Care – Some people get constipated from clay. Colon Care
from Yerba Prima is very gentle, is excellent for the colon in general,
prevents constipation, and provides great fiber for colon health.

  3. Live Kefir probiotic – make your own kefir and drink it every
day, at least 8 ounces a day. I drink mine in the evening and let it work while
I am asleep. You can order kefir grains from Amazon, I did and they work very
well. Use organic milk, raw milk if you can get it. We also tried water kefir
and Kombucha, but neither of those were near as effective as the kefir.
