For what it's worth I've just received this message from my power provider re the smart meter they installed at my home in the middle of last year.I'm left wondering - is this information correct, can it be believed? Anyone care to comment?Cheers, Roger BNZDear Mr BarkerThank you for your call received 14 November 2011, in regards to the transmissions from your advanced meter. We have looked into this for you and are happy to confirm the below information. The stand alone modem for the advanced meter is used as a link between the meter and base server. This is done via the GSM/GPRS(Vodafone)network. The modem sends data to the network when the meter tells it to and receives data via the network from the base server.Transmission of data occurs once per day after midnight and before 6am for the duration of 20-30 seconds. From August 2010 this transmission will reduce to once every seven days. There are one-off cases where transmission may occur during the day for remote reconnections and remote disconnections. Re: CSSmart Meter
Roger, I think you can rest easy with this. The fact that they have sent you a letter with very specific information which includes the NZ emissions specification that it was tested to, and the frequency and duration of the outputs is very impressive. A legitimate business cannot send out a letter like this which is not factual. This is saying that, after August 2010, the transmissions are once a week between midnight and 6am for a duration of 20 to 30 seconds. There may be occasional transmission at other times for the (rare) event where it is necessary to disconnect and reconnect remotely. These outputs from the modem (short as they are) are on the same order of magnitude as a generic cellphone. This exposure seem extremely minimal. If someone is beaming me and my Family with harmful radiation, I believe I should have a Right to know. and as most people work very hard for there homes and pay taxes, I see this as a direct violation of our rights not to be given an option ..There is options that power companies can give us, they should respect their customers and give the people the existing option of a wired meter, but I think they like to keep quiet about that as it would cost them a little more money...Once every one catches wind of that every one would want one of those... Re: CSSmart Meter
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Joshua Hart, StopSmartMeters.Org Tuesday, November 1st 2011 i...@stopsmartmeters.org PGE BEGINS REMOVING 'SMART' METERS DUE TO HEALTH EFFECTS Widening Call for Immediate Return of Analogs; Disconnection of Mesh Wireless Network SANTA CRUZ, CA.---Just as PGE enters the final phase of its deployment of wireless smart meters in California, the largest of the state's Investor Owned Utilities (IOU's) has reversed course, quietly beginning to replace the 'smart' meters of those reporting health impacts with the old trusty analog version. Consumer rights and health groups immediately seized on the news, demanding that millions of Californians unhappy with their new wireless meters get their analogs returned immediately at no cost. 'Smart' meters are new wireless utility meters being installed as part of the smart grid initiative, spearheaded by technology firms and backed by the Obama administration and the Department of Energy. Promises ranging from lower utility bills to enhanced renewable generation capacity have failed to materialize, with widespread reports of higher bills, privacy violations, fires and explosions, and commonly reported health impacts such as headaches, nausea, tinnitus, and heart problems associated with powerful wireless transmissions. Widely disparate political groups- from members of the Green Party to the Tea Party and Occupy protesters have attacked the program, and dozens of grassroots organizations have sprouted up over the past several months to fight what they call an undemocratic, unconstitutional and dangerous assault on people in their own homes and neighborhoods. Dozens of people have been detained or arrested for peaceful civil disobedience and even simply speaking out against deployments.[1] Read Less http://stevebeckow.com/# In California, more than 47 cities and counties have demanded a halt to installation, and a dozen local governments have passed laws prohibiting the controversial technology. [2] The 'smart' meter issue has further angered a public already seething at the utilities over repeated gas explosions, safety breaches at nuclear reactors, and an increasingly extortionate rate structure. Word of California's 'smart' meter nightmare has spread across the country and around the world, prompting some utilities to place smart meter plans on hold, and recently Nevada's PUC to call for investigations into the health effects and other smart meter problems.[3] Now in a dramatic turnaround that could signal the beginning of a widespread recall of wireless 'smart' meters, on October 28th PGE re-installed a classic spinning disc analog meter on the home of Santa Cruz, CA resident Caitlin Phillips, who had been suffering headaches and other symptoms from her 'smart' meter. The move comes in response to verbal directives from the California Public Utilities Commission President Michael Peevey, who recently told members of the public that the utility will provide for you to go back to the analog meter if that's your choice. The CPUC has been slow to respond to thousands of ordinary citizens reporting health effects from the new meters. When a Wellington Energy installer (contracted with PGE) came to install a smart meter at her home, Caitlin asked the installer to get off her property and not install, because of what a neighbor had told her about possible health damage and privacy violations. When I returned home later, I discovered a smart meter on my house. That night I awoke to severe anxiety, headache, and buzzing in my teeth, and realized the new smart meter was on the other side of the wall from my bed. Caitlin reported her experience to PGE and the CPUC, who both declined to rectify the situation. When the symptoms persisted, Caitlin sought the assistance of the Scotts Valley based group Stop Smart Meters! who provided an analog meter and referred her to a professional who could help her remove her 'smart' meter. As soon as the analog was installed, Caitlin's symptoms disappeared. Frustrated and outraged about her treatment by the utility and the PUC, Caitlin travelled to San Francisco to speak at a commission meeting on Oct. 20th. About a week later, PGE crews were at her house replacing her temporary analog meter with a brand new official PGE analog meter. This is believed to be the first time PGE have willingly replaced an analog meter on the home of someone suffering from health effects.[4] An opt-out proceeding overseen by an Administrative Law Judge is underway at the CA Public Utilities Commission, yet those suffering (in some cases severe) health impacts have been stuck in limbo as utilities refuse to remove the harmful meters upon request- until now. There are hundreds of thousands- if not millions- of people suffering in their homes from forced

Years ago when we had a microwave oven I remember calling an electrician to replace a sensor. Once he'd finished the job be checked the oven for leakage with a special meter. I'm just wondering if one of these meters could be used to check microwave output from a smart meter and/or leakage passed a shield. Re: CSSmart Meter Frequency and Info
Ambient Microwave Radiation From Wireless Technologies Linked to Higher Residential Electricity Cost _http://electromagnetichealth.org/media-stories/#Ambient-Microwave_ (http://electromagnetichealth.org/media-stories/#Ambient-Microwave) High Frequencies from Neighborhood Cell Phone Antennas Found to Speed Up Utility Meters, Increasing Bills Might you be paying for electricity you did not use? A couple in upstate New York noticed their electricity bill had almost doubled, even though the rates had not increased and their utility usage had not changed. The utility company said they could not explain what had happened. The couple was aware a cell phone tower had been erected near their home and every time they added new antennas, their electricity bill increased. This couple contacted Dr. Magda Havas of Trent University in Canada, who investigated their situation. Dr. Havas reviewed four years of the couple’ s utility bills and discovered the utility bills had increased dramatically when the antennas went online. She measured high levels of microwave radiation in the home as well as dirty electricity, or high frequency transients, on the electrical wiring. When RF chokes were placed near the hour-watt meter the cost of monthly bills decreased substantially… almost to pre-tower levels. After installing a $10 choke, this couple saved almost $1000 annually on electricity. The explanation is simple. Mechanical hour-watt meters can give inaccurate readings if frequencies higher than 60 Hz (cycles per second) are present on the wiring. The utilities know this and they have technology to keep the electrical power operating at a pure 60 Hz. However, when higher frequencies are loaded onto the line, these frequencies make the hour-watt meters spin faster, giving the appearance that more electricity is being consumed. These false readings are costing American families hundreds to thousands of dollars each year. If your electricity bills are increasing without any obvious explanation and if you go on vacation and are using minimal power but your electricity bill is still high you may want to investigate this situation. You may be paying for power you are not consuming. This case study suggests that further analysis of electrical utility bills pre- and post-erection of a cell phone tower is warranted in cases where utility bills in homes and offices have increased without explanation. Credentialed journalists interested in pursuing a story on the impact of ambient RF on utility meter readings may contact Dr. Magda Havas at HYPERLINK **mailto:mha...@trentu.ca** _mhavas@trentu.ca_ (mailto:mha...@trentu.ca) . - Original Message - From: Mike W-H th...@telus.net To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Monday, October 24, 2011 12:21 PM Subject: Re: CSSmart Meter Frequency and Info You should watch the movie Full Signal , to get better educated on the subject Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoDUCryS6LY Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYBtxjJbmDsfeature=related Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzxp1CCtILofeature=related Part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMI8RCKUHE4feature=related Part 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQ8F81tJwywfeature=related there is qualified people on this movie that you should listen to, then you will know what you are dealing with and you might just have an emotional response when you see that someone is violating your rights, my point is that these meters are not optional, when there is other alternatives they can use such as wired meters using telephone lines, they can give customers an option but don't,,, NOT FAIR, but life never is sometimes, people should have the right to choose i believe in my humble opinion... Re: CSSmart Meter Frequency and Info
Mike, RF readings have shown that smart meters emit far stronger fields than they admit, and they emit them for 24/7 in a pulsed arrangement. From what I have read, these smart meters are dangerous. Nobody knows the health effects of microwave radiation, and studies do show increased risk of cancer, high blood pressure, cardiac abnormalities, allergies, and other health effects. I have also read that the microwaves can be blocked using thick aluminum foil or aluminum screening. It's best to block in back of the meter so no waves enter your house. If you block the front of the meter they won't be able to be read and that might trigger law enforcement of some sort. I'm no expert but I'm reading as much as I can on this. Re: CSSmart Meter Frequency and Info
Dan, Here is a sample letter that I signed and sent to SCEdison. California Public Utilities Commission 505 Van Ness Avenue San Francisco, California 94102 This letter is to inform you that as a California utility customer, I demand the removal of wireless utility meters, and wireless Smart Grid infrastructure and an immediate restoration of analog utility meters. The World Health Organization has recently classified radio frequency electromagnetic fields (wireless) a possible carcinogen. It is a violation of our rights to force the installation of wireless devices upon utility customers without fair process of public or environmental review, or proof of safety. I demand an investigation and evidentiary hearings into the safety impacts of wireless meters, including over billing, interference, burned out appliances, fires and explosions, and health complaints. The people of California deserve an opportunity to be heard. The opt-out proposals before the CPUC are inadequate responses to the problems consumers are experiencing. A pay to opt-out option is only available to the wealthy. This option is not equitable and therefore may be illegal. In addition, paying to opt out of a safety hazard is wrong. We are already paying more for the Smart Meter that we don't want. We want the same reliable service of an analog meter with a meter reader, and at no additional cost. Impose an immediate moratorium on wireless utility meters and provide immediate relief by restoring the analog meters! Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter! - Original Message - From: Dan Nave bhangcha...@gmail.com To: silver-list@eskimo.com Sent: Sunday, October 23, 2011 4:19 PM Subject: CSSmart Meter Frequency and Info Found some useful info at this link. I went out just now to take a look at our electric meter. It does not have the little clocks. The meter looks like a taxi meter, not LED or digitalized. The brand of the meter is Elster, however, at the bottom it reads DCSI SMT3. I did a search on DCSI SMT and it is a smart meter. I also found an article that ELSTER and DCSI have joined to produce/use a certain kind of meter, which i don't understand. CSSmart Meter and Chem Trail
I am rather confused. I called Pedernales our electric utility co. here in Kyle, Texas, to find out if we have a smart meter installed. I was told that they read our electricity electronically. They asked for my address and phone number then said, no i don't have a smart meter and asked if i wanted one. I said, hell no! How can they read my electricity consumption electronically if i don't have a smart meter, is that possible at all? Chemtrail is back here in our area since end of September. Ugh!!! Melly

Re: CSSmart Meter and Chem Trail
I don't know - but that is how it was explained to us. It apparently has a way to measure the water, without having a dial that puts out the number. The old dial wasn't disconnected, but they made sure to tell us not to count on the old dial, since it would no longer be being checked or recalibrated by them. So we have no way of checking the data they are invisibly receiving in their computers. There is an okay documentary called What the heck are they spraying and supposedly people measured melted snow from the top of mount shasta and it is has way over safe levels aluminum in it. They also visit some places were wildlife is sort of dying. And they show changes in soil pHs. I heard someone also found mycoplasma from chemtrails. There is also a retired high ranking military whistle blower, I forget his name, he said in a you tube video the name of a place where he knows some of them are taking off from. And he said they are unmarked NATO planes. Some say global warming control. Some say depopulation. Who knows. They can't come out to all of your houses...so maybe collect a fund and pool the risk, and pay the fees of everyone from that fund. Or just everyone can refuse to pay. If Americans would just act in unison, there isn't really anything in this country we would have to put up with. That's the big IF though. It requires above zombie brain status. Re: CSsmart meter shielding
I would think energy goes from inside someone’s electrical wires to their own meter and then all meters are transmitted to central station up to 5 miles away. So the danger for someone without a smart meter is that the neighborhood has this energy buzzing outside but not directly inside their own home. Otherwise it is passing through walls of everyone’s home and then sealing off your own smart meter with foil wouldn’t help. Re: CSsmart meter shielding
Electromagnetic radiation drops off to the square of the distance. Thus if you are 10 feet from your meter, and 100 feet from the neighbor's, you will receive 100 times as much radiation from yours than your neighbors. That assumes that the antenna is omnidirectional. If the antenna is directional, or they are using the wiring as the antenna, all bets are off. From what I understand, the network is a high fault tolerance interconnected star topology network. The antenna is omnidirectional because of this. It has a high poll rate plus it's event activated traffic. E.g. If someone goes to the toilet at night and uses the light. Or when high current draw. Devices are used such As irons, toasters and kettles. This would be used for analytics in a data warehouse by the utilities company. They also have zigbee radio connectivity so that new devices can provide detailed on their operation which would then be used by the utilities company. Reflections can significantly increase localized RF levels. Hondou et al (2006) establishes that power densities 1000 times to 2000 times higher than the power density predictions from computer modeling (that does not account properly for reflections) can be found in daily living situations. The RF hot spots can significantly increase RF exposure--even above current public safety limits. “In the case of the eyes and testes, direct relaxation of power density limits is not permitted.”(p. 30) This leaves unanswered what instantaneous peak power is permissible from smart meters. The level must be below 4000 uW/cm2. This report shows clearly that smart meters can create instantaneous peak power exposures where the face (eyes) and body (testes) are going to be in close proximity to smart meter RF pulses. Shirley, I have one too. If you live in California you can protest to the DPUC on their website. If they recieve enough complaints they will ban the things. I complained yesterday. They say aluminum foil (double or triple thickness) will block the energy. Put sheets on the wall behind the meter between you and the meter. You can wrap the outside of the meter as well... just keep the front uncovered so Edison can read it. If they cannot they might send someone to your house. From what I understand all of the meters around you communicate with each other. Maybe if a type of shielding could be devised that does not block its operation 24 hours a day. Maybe for a minute or 2 here and there it would work. They might think the meter is broken instead of suspecting the resident. On Tue, Oct 18, 2011 at 7:43 PM, Bob Banever bbane...@earthlink.net wrote: Shirley, I have one too. Re: CSsmart meter shielding
You know, a legal tactic to resist smart meters, would be to organize an everyone block it out with aluminum foil (or whatever actually works) day. Yes, they will be able to tell you blocked it out. But hey, it is on your property. And if everyone who does not like smart meters does it, PGE will be screwed having to come out and remove the foil/whatever to so many houses. Heck, it could be done everyday. David On Tue, Oct 18, 2011 at 9:41 PM, ted mozell tdba...@gmail.com wrote: Heck wait till the neighbors see me out there wrapping the damn thing with aluminum foil . CSsmart meter
silver-list@eskimo.commailto:silver-list@eskimo.comsilver-l...@eskimo.com; is this the list that has discussed the smart meter effects? This morning a utility man knocked on the door to inform me that he was installing a smart meter on my house and the entire neighborhood. I live in southern California. I just googled and saw it can cause heart irregularity, headaches and sleep problems. The phone # he gave me to call the company is not working. I read that a homeowner refused and was charged $4k to keep an analog meter. Does anyone know about this subject? thanks, Jess
RE: CSsmart meter
I knew that these meters were coming to my town because they announced it in the local city electric newsletter. I had been reading about these things for a long time now. So what I did was call my lawyer and see what I could legally do to keep them from installing it at my house. I put a note near the meter that read, Do not install a smart meter on this home and I padlocked the meter with my own lock. The lawyer told me that basically I have a right to not accept this in my town. So my lawyer has sent the city a letter stating that I dont want this smart meter. You should be able to do something like install a grounded metal shield between the meter and your house which would reduce the strength of any emission into the house. That should take care of it. Re: CSsmart meter
I did watch a whole presentation on this by an electrical engineer, I have a similar background and appreciated the detail. Basically this is what I learnt. 1 : Smart Meter operate on a frequency similar to microwaves 2 : Smart meters work on a Cluster / Cloud architecture, meaning one meter does not have direct communication with the 'tower' rather they all talk to each other and the usage messages are passed on through this network of clustered devices. 3 : Like all modern digital communication devices, they vary power depending on the need to transmit the data at high quality. What does this mean. 1: If you cover one up, for example install a faraday cage to shield the device, the utilities company will know of the non-communication occurring from your node. 2 : if you cover or shield the device, or reduce the output by limited shielding, then it will ramp up the power in as much it needs to transmit the signal 3 : Your neighbours meters will still be transmitting unaffected, which will of course reach you. 4 : you will be receiving this radiation from multiple sources, from wherever your neighbours reside. this does not mean that we are all done for, rather it means we have to find ways around this, I for example take exception to the utilities company radiating me without permission, or constantly monitoring my electricity usage, and creating a profile of to sell to data aggregators, to create and complete my 'profile'. They can tell how many people are in the house, their approximate ages, devices used, how many times a person goes to the toilet at night, and even approximate tv watching habits... e.g. many people go to the toilet during a commercial break and go to the fridge for a cold drink, or make a coffee. all by live electricity usage data. I went to a seminar on this regarding remotely monitoring the elderly and their habits to see the state of their health... just my two pence worth peace to all, Asif. Re: CSsmart meter
Dan, I live in So. Cal and already have a smart meter on my house. I'm livid as I didn't even know they installed it (probably two years ago). I've always had issues with my health living here. Tiredness and malaise mostly. As soon as I leave on vacation I feel better. Happens every time. I called SC Edison and they said they cannot remove the meter until the DPU ok's the opt out. In the meantime I covered the meter with a double layer of thick aluminum foil. I haven't shielded the back of the unit though I can't get in back of it. I'm wondering if I put foil up on the wall inside my house directly in back if that will shield me. Lena, Thick aluminum foil should do the trick. Re: CSsmart meter
I am going to ask a dumb question. How would one know if they have had a 'smart meter' installed? (I haven't heard a peep out of our coop about a smart meter.) We live out in the country and our meter is on a pole about 100 - 150 ft (underground from the pole to the house) away from the house. One more question.. if we have had a smart meter installed, would it being so far from the house make it less of a problem? I read that a homeowner refused and was charged $4k to keep an analog meter. Does anyone know about this subject? thanks, Jess -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver. Smartmeters have digital readouts. Regular analog ones have little clock-type faces for reading. Chuck Those that forget the pasta are doomed to reheat it. One more question.. if we have had a smart meter installed, would it being so far from the house make it less of a problem? And it is not just electric meters ... our water meter also transmits ... because we don't have a landline phone they put one in on our water meter ... not sure what the max distance is but i know they send someone in a car to drive the hood each month to collect the info. So ... you might have more than one transmitter in the house. I have orgonite towers all over our house. Re: CSsmart meter
Good point. I will have to look around but.. we don't pay for water and I can't think of anything else 'they' would have access to. I like the idea of the orgonites placed around the house. Been thinking about getting some. Not to change the subject (you mentioning orgonite reminded me) but has anyone else noticed the lessoning of chem trails since the earthquakes last month?
