Hi Vicky, I was unable to ship to a different address. I'm going to update to the latest and see what happens. Will let you know. Are you then still able to find the ship to this address button? I'm now using iOS 9.3.4 and still can't find that button in this specific situation. This is totally weird! I can tap on the correct ship to this address button with VO off, but when I try tapping on it with VO on, nothing happens. This didn't used to be this way. Maybe updating to the latest version of iOS 9 might help. I'm currently on version 9.3.1 (13E238). Are you talking about the search box for finding products using the Amazon app? If so, I can always find that, and it's completely accessible with VoiceOver. When you flick to it or tap on it, VoiceOver says, "what are you looking for? Search field." I can verify this as well. It used to work but now I had to accomplish it from my pc. ok, so explain to me exactly word for word how you are doing this. When i 1st load the app, i see cart, so i click on that, and i can review the cart. When i go all the way to the left i see, back button cart subtotal Then it lists the total. I continue swiping right and it says proceed to checkout. So i click on that, and can't get any further. I suggest that you explore all of the device's display settings and make certain that everything is set to the default parameters--especially the screen size and font size. Also, if you have a plus size device, make certain that the Reach ability feature is disabled. One more thing, assuming that the display settings have not been modified, the next troubleshooting step I would take would be to find a sighted person, disable VoiceOver, and see if the sighted person can move forward with the purchasing process. RE: amazon app, major bug
If you ever need to tap a button with Voiceover off, find the button and put your finger over it so you are just not touching the screen. Now triple click the home button to turn Voiceover off by triple clicking the home button with the other hand. Once Voiceover is off tap the screen where you are hovering with your finger and hope you hit the button in question. I find that it helps when my phone is on a solid surface like a table. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Jed Barton Sent: Saturday, August 6, 2016 10:08 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: amazon app, major bug ok, so how did you turn off voiceover to do this? Well, i had not 1 but 2 reps try it. Both of them actually use it all the time. I got lucky, they both tried it with voiceover and the same results. I placed an order on the pc with no problem. It's certainly an app issue. On 8/6/2016 3:09 AM, M. Thanks Sieghard! Everything else was acknowledge: send to: and price, but I don't recall seeing a "Place order" button; however, I will have a further hunt for those words. I double tapped on "Proceed to Checkout" and on the next screen it went straight to where it gave me my order summary with my default address and I just had the "Place Order" button at the top. Since I didn't actually want to order anything just now I didn't tap that, but I did tap on my name in the address and that brought up a screen which showed a couple of other shipping addresses I have used over the years. Under my address was the "Use this address" btton and when I double tapped on it I was back at the final screen with the "Place Order" button. Re: amazon app, major bug
I, too, will be very interested in a reply as I am having the identical problem. It is years since I shopped at Amazon, but I wanted a voiced powerbank and was advised by a friend here in New Zealand that the Peak 6000 was what I wanted, so after entering the query into Google, I was directed to Amazon.com. I found it and put it in my cart and then jogged along to "checkout" to pay for it, but when I clicked my home address, I was told that the item could not be shipped to New Zealand because it was a lithium battery. However, we, that is, New Zealanders do have an alternative address for, otherwise, prohibitted imports and this is YouShop, which is based in Portland Oregon, but run by NZ post, so Amazon sends items to YS and YS then sends them on to my home address. So that this would be possible, I created an account with YouShop and then went back to Amazon and entered the YouShop details as my preferred shipping address. I thought that that was the transaction completed, but when I had a look in my cart this morning, the powerbank Peak 6000 was still there. Somewhere, there must be a "pay now" button, but I have hunted north/sout/east and all points between, but I can't find the wretched thing. Hi, I also use the app whenever I make purchases through Amazon and I too have not encountered any difficulties when selecting an address. The only glitch I ever encountered was after purchasing an item, the item wouldn't be removed from my cart, I'd have to go to my cart and manually remove it.
