Norman Jay's MBE was due to his work with the British Council; it had

I know its not techno but this handmade mix CD is well worth picking up - sort
of ambient and hip hop all in one and easily the best mix CD of the year I have
heard - WarpMart are selling it (though I got mine from Piccadilly) and
describe it as such:
I recognise this from the description and I'm sure its something I have - my
first thought was that it could possibly be a Black Lodge 7 which is based on
a track on the Dumbo soundtrack (I think the title is Pink Elephants on
Parade but someone may correct me) - its in old recycled 7 pop
I'm listening to Trance Europe Xpress 4 and there is a wicked track by DJ
Crystl - Crystlized that has a very LTJ Bukem sound to it but maybe a tad
more aggressive then most of his output
Crystl dropped a couple of excellent 12s that year (on Payday I think) - 183
and Perpetual Motion; both
I've both the LP and CD sitting at home waiting to listen... I understand the

anyone clarify this?

Off the top of my head a list of my favourite dnb/jungle/old skool tracks -

It depends on how much time you have! I've found good things there but its
stock is smaller than the Berwick Street store, and it is quite a bit more
expensive; as with the the other store hip hop and disco/boogie
but Francois K was a bit dissapointing...no techno!
You should have hung around - he played a few obvious things which are still
techno as far as I am aware - Strings of Life by Rhythim Is Rhythim, Black

I've heard quite a few Detroit DJs drop this one but it is indeed undoubtably a

Best thing is to be very careful with them so you don't ever have to clean

Kevin Saunderson also produced a track on their LP called To The Trip (as in

sounds a bit like early Inner City with girly rapping! I have We Know It
