was there also... unfortunately, i sat on the right side of the auditorium,
right next to one of the surround speakers. the best place to be was
directly in the middle, as carl was controlling the feeds sent to each
speaker and to get the full impact of the effect you needed to be in the
platinum in windsor is working on it, not sure if they have date locked down

Hey there...
Any ideas on Timo Maas visiting

i've ever read. You can get people to back it up all
you want but oliver never even played out there. But
wheather he did or not is beside the point.
Intelligent and forward people know this. He plays
100% live these days. Second who the fuck is detroit
science? LOL Yeah that's what i thought
I know he (Oliver Chesler) did a great job clearing the dancefloor (in fact
the whole venue) when he played in Detroit at the by the bridge space two
years ago.
little known fact: his supposed live gig was in fact a track act to a
dat. the keyboard was just a prop. oliver was just using a
sawtooth? are we missing something?
couldn't find any entries in any of the online slang dictionaries...

I think this is pretty disturbing party. Very enigmatic stuff. Some of
these kids are playing live for the first time, and some of them might be
really fantastic. To me it seems like a fucking awesome idea that's
gotten into the wrong hands.

ummm, ok - is anyone else not quite sure about these numbers?
750,000 seems to be a super high number to me, especially considering that
we parked less than 2 blocks away all weekend.
how many people come down to the fireworks every year? i thought that
number was around a million, and when
I don't see how anybody, fan or producer, can come into techno via
hip-hop.
ummm, actually it was a little bit more of a general scene question than
specifically techno - more dance music in general.
and, i realize that breaking it down to industrial or hip hop oversimplified
the issue, but
we've been trying to work out the detronik live pa, but due to scheduling

Whew! Finally done. Thank you to everyone who has moved sets, changed
sets, etc etc in order to make this night work. I wouldnt have believed
that it was possible to have 16 artists completely reorganize a night in the
space of 24 hours but we did it.
So here it is:
DANCE
9 PM - 10:30
dance room
3 tables
dual deck cd players/mixer
vestex pmc-50 mixer
dat lined in for either playback or record
headphone amplifier - great for tagging
2 mackie monitors - and they're flown now, too
front
2 tables
rane something or other, fairly basic
monitors

a conversation that started between dave the wave dresden and i @ wmc this
year centered around how people got into the scene, and i started an
informal poll while i was down there. ratio? about 60% industrial, 40%
hip hop.
and one - neither. neither? his answer - heavy metal. hmmm

hiya, miss holly -
could someone please email me the lineup from this event? i'm trying to
figure
out who some of the sets are, and would like to put them in chronological
order
so the night is as close to recreated as possible...
the intended lineup was as follows:
dance room
9pm - 11pm
After seeing this, and remembering about the last 313 party at Science,
wasn't there suppose to be something similar to this? I'm definitely
placing my vote for a 313 jam session for the party in May, any
suggestions?
we can pretty much do whatever we want with the night, as long as it stays
so then has it been decided that the 313 gathering is on Friday?
yep, friday 5/26/00 rather than the saturday as i believe the conflict w/
the fest would be too great. a lot of listmembers will be in town by then
so it oughta be all good.

thought that i'd pass this along to the list, so that those in detroit can
utilize if wanted. save the email, because the 2-4-1 cyberinvite is good
for the entire month of april, not any date in particular. just print it
out
sorry, i posted about the cyberinvite and then didn't send it through...
