least launch a full scan from scratch.

I have an EX490 server & with 16,750 tracks, 7.5 would complete a full
scan in approx. 20 mins & 7.6 does it in 15 mins. My EX490 is only a
2.2GHz Celeron so not hugely more powerful than your EX470.

Yes, you now have to wait for the first scan to fully finish before any music
can be played.

You should be able to just abort the scan again, set new logging
settings and start over.
Keep in mind that in 7.6 (with SQLite) the server and library are

Based on my own experience I would have thought that it would take
40-45 min for a complete rescan.

For anyone running from SVN checkouts, what would be the SBS version
numbers that correspond to each of the builds that you're producing?
Anyone experiencing the problem and running from the Perl code could
just roll back to those versions and figure out which is the earliest
one to fail.

Please don't mix and match scanner.exe from a different version, you are
inviting all sorts of other problems such as incompatible databases,
etc. If you have scanner crashes, please see the bug which has

Some changes still needs a complete rescan ( new and changed is not
picking up everything ).
This should be easy ? Scanning a whole library or adding every allbum
one by one or changing them should give completely identical dB if not
then something is wrong ?

doing small changes every day (adding 2 or 3 albums, re-tagging 2 or 3

still there... I don't get the impression Logitech is trying to solve
the scanning problems. Instead they're creating a new build, LMS. Why,

I'm guessing downloading artwork only happens once, after you have the
artwork it shouldn't have to retrieve new images from the Internet.

embedded artwork in the style of:
COVERART=very_long_string_of_b64_encoded_jpeg_data
??
I still have a few of those sorts of files in my collection and the
artwork pre-cache routine is hanging on one of those.

..tells me that I've got 89 mp3 files in the library.
I will be surprised (and embarrassed) if any of my flacs have ID3v2
tags.
Doing this test:

Hmm normally it logs the filename but it will log "data" if the artwork
is embedded and can't be accessed directly, but this shouldn't be the
case with FLAC. Is your library 100% FLAC?
You can enable artwork debug for more info.

PS: after scanner.pl hangs, and after clicking the "abort scan" link in
the SBS web UI, the scanner.pl task remains running (as seen via ps ax)
and is seemingly immune to a "kill" command. A system reboot seems to
be required to get rid of it.

rated for WHS, not the V1 which is not rated for WHS. (But still
running MSE V1 on my other Vista computers).
For those interested, my AV experiences with MSE have been good. No
infections despite some interest
i think when people exclude files they do *.myi and some others, seaarch
the forums. and last i heard, MSE exclusion of files feature doesn't
work.

My Duet / SB server installation is on an HP MediaSmart EX485 (with
E5200 CPU upgrade, V2.5 server software) Windows Home Server, using the
new MSE beta for my AV.
I was having 'issues' with 7.5.1 so I thought I'd try 7.6 which does
run where previously 7.5.1 wouldn't.

Now I'm basically seeing the same thing in 7.6. I think it's something
to do with the WAL update.
