uncovered exactly 70 species by trips end. Down 11 from last year, but
given the wind, I thought we may have a chance at the fewest # seen on an

I recently received an e-mail from a local Bruce birder, which includes
photos of a Sage Thrasher, taken yesterday morning on Sauble Beach.
The bird was photographed in some short grass on the beach, across from a
Piping Plover nest.
These are all the details I have, but figured I

It's getting close to that time of the year again when we turn our thoughts
to winter listing and all of the fun and excitement that can come with it.

I spent a few hours on the Niagara River this morning with Brandon Holden.
From the area of Mather Park, we watcher a large storm front move in,
driving many birds ahead of it, inland, or up the Niagara River. The winds
were a strong W or SW component and have been for a few days now.
The juvenile long-billed dowitcher found yesterday by Cheryl Edgecombe is
still present. Its with a couple juvenile stilts and dunlin with mixed
yellowlegs. There is a small island south east end of pond, all shorebirds
are here.

traditional `Poth Road Sod Farm` on Poth Road, near Stromness, Haldimand

the Hawk Watch tower at holiday beach CA.
Holiday beach is located on Essex county road 50 in Essex county just west

Dan Macneal called to advise the bird was sitting on the blue roofed
building in the inner harbour, but only visible from the west side of that

The Piping Plover reported earlier at Nonquon Lagoons by Dave Milsom, is
still present on the north east rock jetty in the 1st lagoon.
In the south west corner, we discovered a Red-necked Phalarope. Both were
photographed. The plover appears to have orange and green bands.

The young male Kirtlands Warbler continues to be seen in the pine stands
just east of the pumphouse at Long Point new provincial park.

The male Painted Bunting continues at the feeders at 95 Glencairn cres. In
Huntsville.
A group of us had the bird near the burn
pile close to the feeders in the backyard. Its roosting in the conifers
and feeding every hour or so.

as going to the feeders, today it appeared in the yard at 8:50 Am and did
not go to feeders but rather just flew about the yard. It liked the

There is a fish crizzow hanging out around bayfront park in Hamilton. I
just had the bird vocalizing and flying towards the Leander boat club east
of the eastern most spit at the park. It is with a few other corvids and
seems to be roaming the area. They came from the trainyard west of

Wellington county just north of Guelph. The bird had been reported locally
in recent days.

The previously reported ROSS'S GOOSE is still present at the Roch Chapel
Golf Course in Flamborough. Joanne Redwood and I just met up with Barry
Cherriere there who had the bird staked out nicely. The Snow Geese have not

unable to relocate the Canvasback x Redhead Hybrid for photographs, we were
