I'll be starting Final Fantasy: X2 soon, but to be honest
I've been putting it off.I live for the next Final Fantasy
game but simply don't
have the gaming time I used to.But I know I'll get sucked
in and my kids
will be orphans and my wife will be thinking divorce and my
boss will
I can recall working on the SNES version of shadow run, it
was supposed to have around 100 hours of game play. But it
took longer than that to complete this game. Although when
QA'ing this game I had it down to around 5 hours from start
to finish to show Nintendo that the game could be
the slack. but that
should have been a standard feature of the SP, I think.

Interesting gameplay has NEVER been about the graphics and processor
power, it's about the GAMEPLAY!
Remember Tetris? One of the most addictive games EVER, and it was
incredibly simple
Developers need to concentrate on the gameplay itself to make the games

You know...on some level I agree with you, but realistically I don't
think so in today's market.
For me, personally, I tend to shy away from games that don't meet the
basic visual standard that I've gotten used to over the past two years.
And that's regardless of any gameplay enhancements they
I spoke to someone about a year back about gaming, and they said that
they wouldn't touch any game that didn't have a certain look - he
didn't care about the gameplay, only the look of the game

He's half-right.My favorite game right now is Viewtiful Joe - which
would be well-nigh impossible on the N-64, but uses the resource of the
GC to the hilt, and all geared towards ridiculously engaging gameplay.
Crystal Chronicles might be a dud, but at least it's trying something new.
Sony abjectly refuses to offer more than two control ports on
their consoles (barring an extra multitap)
Saying that, with 2 multitaps you can have 8 players, none of the other
consoles offer this
So, in one way it's a bad thing, but in another, it's an incredible

I was thinking of Dynasty Tactics so my gf won't get too

I do think that Nintendo, at the very least, tends to generalize. They love
to say players this and gamers that while completely ignoring the wider
marker.Yes, many players want simpler, shorted games. But many (I think
more) want more depth and longer gameplay - there's a reason that GTA and

Yes it's heavy and needy but (from what I've heard) well worth it.

Well Jim,
that's an interesting concept. However, if you were Sony or Microsoft
would you allow Nintendo to create a 'special' controller for your
console?
The very idea of anyone 'rebranding' the hardware would be anathema for
these companies.
Nintendo has managed so far to succeed as

Jim's idea is interesting.Hell, MS allowed Capcom to create a special
controller for Steel Batallion, so distributing a special controller

there's already third party controllers for the xbox ... is this what
you are talking about? MicroSoft already allows it.

No well...what peeples were talking about was fully rebranding the
console to make it 'feel' like a Nintendo.
MadCatz doesn't do this, and neither does Capcom with their Steel
battalion controller. If Nintendo makes a move like this they will never
be able to create the illusion that the player
