I've had my Dell Precision M6300 for about 2 years now I think. It's CPU, a 2.8ghz Intel X900 Core 2 Duo was the most powerful process dell offered on this laptop at the time. It's still pretty damn powerful for a laptop I think :) This CPU was like a $1000 upgrade on top of the standard price

Yeah, I remember that, and Cameron's point about dual booting is spot on. The same hardware costs less other places tho. MPBs *are* put together nice (besides the non-user-serviceable-ness). The keyboards have been swell on the last couple models... dunno about cleaning out the new inlaid ones,

haven't tried cinelerra out yet, but I'll have to compile it it seems and I don't have time for that today. Believe me, I would LOVE to see a good crash resistant video editor on linux. You wouldn't believe how fast my 4 core desktop can rip a dvd...just imagine that rendering video. On J

my wife's machine actually. My daughters play their dvd based games or webkinz. My wife's machine is usually a pita. Between windows and the factory - installed software, there always seems to be an issue. Like, we can both be using wireless networking and suddenly her's will become blind.
