Did you use the ext3 initrd? (BootX folder)

You could fall back to fbdev instead of radeon in the "Driver" line.
You won't have any acceleration, but it beats lines I guess.
Sound is interesting. There really is on
ctly
to me or through the normal channels of IRC, cooker-ppc mail list or
bugzilla (bugzilla may not be all that appropriate for PPC specific
issues, as all the content goes to the main cooker list).

I built up a mol-kmods against the kernel-benh-4mdk:
http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~sbenedict/cooker-ppc/mol-kmods-benh-0.9.66-1mdk.ppc.rpm
srpm is there also, but not real useful as I built it against the kernel
build tree still in my ~/rpm/BUILD
Works on my powerbook.

By XFree4, I was referring to XFree86, version 4.x.
What type of iMac, and what type of video adapter? We can probably
resolve the crash issue with a few more details.

Since you say it works in console, it doesn't seem to me to be the kernel.
Have you tried disabling gpm? None of the patches I did touched any mouse
code, so it should be pure benh in that respect.

Hmm, I'll have to look at the mandrake kernel dri and see if it's newer
and if it can be wedged into the benh version.

I'm running that kernel here and using my Logitech wheel mouse (usb) and
trackpad (adb).

I updated my rsync of Ben's kernel and did a repatch/rebuild:
http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~sbenedict/cooker-ppc
kernel-benh-2.4.20-3mdk.ppc.rpm
kernel-benh-smp-2.4.20-3mdk.ppc.rpm
kernel-benh-2.4.20-3mdk.src.rpm
I'll update the installer version next.

The only thing I see significant there is the kernel, so it probably goes
back to me needing to rsync benh's stuff.

8.2 questions are ok here too, despite the list name. It's really the
only avenue ppc folks have, this and the club forum and irc. People have
had varying success with the xmms cdreader plugin also.
