left fragments of data in the radio. Not specific to the KX2 but could
be. From your description it seems the radio was in FSK mode. That

Press SPOT and the radio will jump on the exact carrier frequency. The
SPOT function can pull on to the WWV frequency as far away as about 100

The method I've used to check my K3S, put the radio in CW mode, tune to
each WWV frequency and then press SPOT. The automatic SPOT function
will bring the radio to the WWV frequency +/- 1 Hz. The SPOT function
matches the receiver sidetone offset of the WWV carrier and the audio of
WWV is not

I just looked at the current values of my K3s using the internal DISP
current and voltage values.
This is how it came from the factory after replacement of the KPA3A rev
E amp on 5/30/2018.
In RX USB mode = 1.6A Vcc = 13.8V Audio volume at minimum.
In TX USB mode no audio, 10 watt PWR s

current value but also at the IMD products while using a spectrum
analyzer. One can tweak the values of IMD down by having the correct

Nothing heard on my K3S that is being produced by my KPA500 {s/n 3519}
on 10M and nothing seen on my P3.
I would go back through each step of the assembly process and make sure
all is correct and all hardware is tight. I do see spikes from other
sources on 10M but these are in the

EXACTLY as described in the KPA500 manual page 16 & 17, and in the K3S
manual page 29 & 59, all will be well with the EXT ALC engaged.
