I have a SCSI CD/RW (Yamaha). that has worked flawlessly for a long
time. A while back, I changed the distro on the box from RedHat, to
Mandrake 8.1. After that, my CD/RW won't work any more. it still
functions as a regular CDrom, but the writer errors out.

included HD swap partition(s), but now in 8.1 it doesn't. When did this

I do have problems with Gnome.When i log in the bar at the bottom doesn't show.
I think it's a problem with pilot conduits because when i boot under Gnome Pilot
conduits appear with the bar and then the bar disappear.

Had evolution 1.0 working fine under mandrake 8.1, deceided to go back
to mandrake 8.0.
Evolution 1.0 installs fine but when i run it i get the following error:
"cannot initaialize the xiimian evolution shell: config database not
found". any ideas ?
Evolution 0.9 runs fine though.
