It's in MAILABLE format because it's actually a package of several files. Download the MAILABLE file to your VM system. RENAME the file to SWPG0803 EXEC and run it to extract the 11 encoded files. Use and enjoy.

That is excatally what it can do in VSE.. Point the output to an IP address where the client is running (there is LINUX, WINDOZE, UNIX, etc. versions) and run your VSE job to either read or write the tape input/output to the remote VTAPE server.. So simple and I can't believe IBM developed it.

Oh, and the fixed numbers from later releases are bogus as well... As it turns out, Linux folks from discrete world don't really care for CPU utilization, they only ask for that so they do their math to determine the amount of *unused* capacity (100-busy). Clearly in this world you cannot do this

From what I have heard, I have no direct experience with it, all VM:Secure does is act as a file pool administrator using the built-in SFS commands; it does not add any functionality. Your experience tends to support that. There may be other commands, but if there are, I am not familiar with them.
