It does work as Cathy described. However, a word of warning to those who use
Pedigree Web changes - changing the RIN destroys the link between the web
pages and the Legacy database; ie the file names of the web pages and the
RINs of the individuals will no longer be the same.
Renaming is exactly what I did so that I can easily put this back. I
haven't noticed any problems but so far there aren't many programs out
there designed specifically for Vista. And yes, I would expect this
to be a temporary work around until Microsoft gets its act together.

No, you don't need to change every Event for every individual, just once
I also would like to see Legacy return to its core function.

Jenny,
Have you noticed that you can automatically update the individual and family
from the LDS Screen? Doing so will automatically put the details into your
Sources under the IGI Master List (which it will create if you don't have it

I smiled when I read your email and Dick's. I go back a ways too---1982,

The 1982 days saw the barest of bones for a computer genealogy

See Options button on Index View and access Customise Columns.
Suggest you also use File File Maintenance Check/Repair
It's worth doing this fairly regularly to check the indexes in the database.
