My shower sump consists of a well in the floor of the shower (all fiberglass over styrofoam) with a perforated sheet (the screen) of stainless covering it. The pump - one of those square Rule pumps - and float switch are in the sump. I like this pump because it is square and so fits the square

Last week in Jan's condo the outlets in the guest and master bedroom went dead. I checked the breaker box and found that the line to the guest bedroom was live. It went to one box in the string then all the others followed in two series strings, one for each room. I started opening boxes

I personally have never felt a tingle when I touched a lamp. On a properly wired lamp neither the neutral nor the hot is in contact with any exposed metal parts. Furthermore, the neutral is supposed to be connected to the bulb socket's screw threads, not the contact at the bottom of the socket.

We also had that glow plug problem with Jan's 240D in cold weather. Diagnosed by mechanics advice and confirmed with ohm meter. Replaced the glow plugs and the engine started right up. Speaking of diesel and cold weather, I recently read about a fuel problem story involving a B-52 airplane.
