You probably need the 'next-server' entry in your dhcpd.conf file to point
to the LTSP server.
Newer versions of dhcpd require that. Search the LTSP wiki for
'next-server' for more info on that.

I would like to read your HOWTO, this method sounds
quit interesting, thanks! 8)

You have at least two options:
- Follow the steps of the PXE howto on www.ltsp.org and use PXE directly
- Load Etherboot via PXE and then continue

Etherboot is a network bootloader that can be loaded into NIC bootroms,
floppy bootsectors, LILO images, etc.
PXE is a set of standard protocols. A PXE-compliant network bootloader
is preloaded on a lot of new NIC bootroms. Other PXE-compliant
software (such as NILO, www.nilo.org) can be install
Hi
May be Iam wrong,
Upto my knowledge if we enable PXE it will Load
kernel by reading the ROM image in BIOS only, if it is
etherboot it will read ROM image from a floppy or any
ROM chip on your card, ofcourse both will load kernel
from ethernet network. I put the ROM image in my BIOS

PXE is actually very similar to Etherboot. They are both IP-based, and
they both do a DHCP request and expect to learn where to get their
bootcode from.
The main difference is that PXE-format bootcode is different from
Etherboot-format bootcode. The best way to do this is to fixup an LTSP
kernel
Hi guys,
I've been booting LTSP onto some old '486s with Etherboot ROMs via DHCP/TFTP
quite nicely.
I'm proposing getting some new SBCs with PXE on-board. Looking at the PXE
spec on Intel's web site it would appear that PXE is built on top of DHCP,
so should be compatible, but it doesn't actually
Hi everybody,
I installed LTSP PXE Stuff and now trying to boot a Compaq (HP) Evo D510
e-PC ( http://www.compaq.com/products/desktops/d510epc/ ).
This computer has no PS2 ports, both mouse and keyboard are USB.
When I try to boot it prompts this error thousands of times:
pc_keyb: controller jammed
Hi Jack
BPBatch directory structure (bpbatch available from www.bpbatch.org)
bpbatch:
bpbatch bpbatch.hlp bzImage-2.4.9-ltsp-4
bpbatch.bpb bpbatch.ovl initrd.ltsp.gz
Control file bpbatch.bpb:
set CacheNever="ON"
set len=@"$Basename"
set len=($len - 9)

Please accept that most of the replies will be to tell you to read a
document, or to suggest that you may be asking the wrong question.

I'm just starting pxe booting, so excuse the newbie
question. Is it possible to boot pxe thru bpbatch
without the hpa-tftp server ? darrylb, are you there ?
would you post the bpbatch config and dhcpd.conf files ?
