There is a rather "expensive" box that was designed for

It has a unit link cable to connect to the changer, power

I didn't know Best Buy had it...BB isn't on the Guillemot's site as a

Hi all,
I'm thinking of developing a USB to S/PDIF optical interface for the PC

By head cleaner, I assume you are referring to a MD that slides into the

From what I've read, the answer seems to be: NEVER. Just say no.

Can the R70 be set to place an automatic T Mark or index mark, when the
silence between cuts off an LP is of sufficient length?
Can any of the following do so, and how often did they miss a Mark, (ie. I
assume if the silence is too short, it will not get marked.):
Sony R90
Sony R55
Sharp 831

I think this the default setting. There must have a silence of 2 or 3 seconds
between two tracks and when I say silence, it means that the vu-meter must
nothing. At the end of a track, you may have the mpression that there s silence
but there's still a little entry level. The problem with LP

My Japanese-built MDS-JE500 has developed the turn-on bug. So far it has
happened only when a partially ejected disc is still sticking out of the

years for the bug to show up. (With a 510. you were lucky if you didn't

Who has the MDR-EX70LP's in stock? Both outpost.com and planetminidisc.com

Thanks.

Hi!
I'm brand new to this list. I bought a Sony MZ-R70 through Minidisco.com
last week (my first MD unit) and I am very satisfied with it and I will
write a detailed review of the product for the web in a month or so.
I am now looking to buy blank MDs, and lots of 'em. My dilemma is as
I'd be interested. It would be nice if it had companion software or interface to
Musicmatch or other MP3 players that automatically records a playlist and
increments the tracks. ( I notice that this is done on my sharp MT831 by turning
off the SPDIF signal completely, i.e. silence won't

As far as I can tell,
does anyone know of a program or plugin for winamp that can insert blank
space between tracks on a playlist so tracks don't get recorded together?
it's a pain to go back and divide the tracks that are recorded together.

Hi,
How complicated and expensive is it to ship electronic items purchased in
Honk Kong to the USA?
I'm going in a couple of weeks and am hoping to pick up some nice minidisc
gear in HK, but am concerned a component or mini-system won't fit in my
luggage.
Thanks.

That wont work with files where certain information is stored at the end of
the file, like AVI's (I believe) mp3's and the like it does work for as
well as most (but not all) video.

It has blank mp3s of various lengths. I suggest you download the 2 second
one and insert it between each mp3 on the playlist. Doing all that
inserting can be a bit of a pain but it doesn't take too long really.

Simon, I'm still going through the trouble of finding a reputable car radio
installer who can rig a portable minidisk player into an Audi A4's CD
changer input, (that's in lieu of a CD changer.) I have finally found an
individual who appears to be sufficiently interested as to do his own

I use the MD lens cleaner (dry dummy disc with a couple of audio test

there is a noticeable problem - failure to find tracks or erratic skipping.
I use it once and a while only because I notice a visible lint build-up
