you might be able to copy digitally to MD would be sub-par DVDs that have
MPEG sound intead of DD, or DTS.
In other words, just make an analogue copy.

However in general I would far prefer LP2 to standard mono...if it's as good
as they say it is anyway. I have never actually listned to an LP MD.

simply can not digitally record from dvd (pioneer dv-333) onto minidisc.
This is because minidisc only records two channel sound, in one sampling
rate (unless you have a sampling rate converter, in which case it might do 3
different rates). Most DVDs are 5.1 (meaning five and one tenths
that's another story, which is why high end audio
geeks spend thousands on outboard DACs for their CD players. How a DAC works
is open to interpritation somewhat, where as with resampling, it can only be
done one way.

one time I forgot to put the CD audio cable back inside my computer (the one
that runs from CDROM to sound card) and I could play CDs in Winamp, and not
in Windows CD player. This would suggest that Winamp was exracting the files
digitaly, since the pass through method could not work.
