Is this available online? I do a search and I can't find it.
(Shawn Lin)
Evidently not. I did a search for it, too, and came up with nothing.
The SKU #, by the way, is 4148489, but I don't believe bestbuy.com
references any of their online items by SKU number.
I bought today the last one
Best Buy has reduced the price of its Turtle Beach AudioTron digital

as i was one of the first to reply this time i'll restate what i

I'm just now catching up with my digests, so forgive me for putting in
my two cents so late. I was really annoyed to see this stupid thread
pop up AGAIN. As I had remarked on this list only three months ago,
Best Buy has eliminated minidisc component decks ONLY. Portable

Hi, guys ... I'm a merchandiser at Best Buy and have been on the list since
1996. I usually don't post unless I have something substantive to say, and
unfortunately, I do have something worth posting about today. I say
'unfortunately' because it appears that many listmembers' fears about Best
Would that be similar to http://minidisc.org/part_Sony_MDS-JE440.html
(J. Coon)
Yeah, that's the one. I didn't remember the correct model number.
Incidentally, Best Buy's sign for it fails to mention the MDLP modes. In
fact, the tag states that one can record up to *74 minutes* with it.
An LP-2/4 minidisc recording deck is already available at Best Buy stores.
It's called the MDS-JE400, I believe, and it's retailing for $199

Anyone actually have or used a Sony R55CIF (that one they sell at best

that work at best buy are about as bright as the 'q' key on my keyboard.
anyway i was just interested in it, if ya have any info i wouldn't mind
Today, there is the JE330 and the one with the CD/MD combo deck, MZ-R70,

looks much less exciting for MD at Best Buy now, and I find it a little

I've just accessed the link from the community page to Video Direct

It's the old Betamax vs VHS argument again. Betamax was undoubtedly the
better format - smaller size tapes with higher quality pictures and sound,
and the tapes were slightly longer!(Stainless Steel Rat)

After I read your post, I grabbed a handful of MDs which were recorded

fine. It sounds to me like you probably have a defective unit.(Jim)
Thanks for your reply, Jim. You must be right, because the unit I exchanged
I'm not sure if it would be worth much of a premium, esp. if it is only
an 8% longer play.(Jeff)
Oh, it would be worth it if one wants to dub a CD that is longer than 75

Just to set the record straight, there never was an MZ-R1. Sony's first
recordable minidisc portable was called an MZ-1. The 'R' wasn't
incorporated in Sony's minidisc nomenclature until the MZ-R2.

I looked at this unit in Best Buy and didn't see any stop/play/track
