As Brant said, over time any group can have many different members.
I believe these categories must be manually assigned. (Think about larger

the second sentence you've got since mastering is not a semantic level in
MB and it's superfluous (you

AR, but it's not hugely important.
The rest (the explanation) is purely optional from my point of view. As I
said, it just makes the mastering-definition comparable to the other
definitions.

IMO the previous version was much better (MusicBrainz Recordings do not
indicate any particular mastering.).
Don't try to explain why a mastering is not a recording in MB. Most
mixing also happens after recording (unless you capture something using
multiple mics pre-mixed to stereo).
