This is my first attemp at installing Mandrake 8.2 on a Powermac G4 AGp. All
went well except that the Apple USB Keyborad is not displaying the correct
charactors when using xwindows and gome . IE a typed "a"returns a "8 "etc .
I am sure this is a minor config problem but not sure how to tackle it
With XP, W2K or NT, you can just use the disk manager to do this. Log
in to W$ as an administrator, run the disk manager, delete the
non-windoze partitions and recreate them as FAT32 or whatever. My
memory of XP's menu structures is hazy as I run it as rarely as
possible, but I think you'll find

I am trying to install Sylpheed-0.7.2claws from source. The only

I'm not usually the cheerleader type, but here goes.
One of the things that prevented me from making the jump to an all-Linux
machine was that I assumed I would have problems downloading pictures from
my digital camera to my computer (10 minutes on comp.os.linux.hardware
solved that), and I was a

:) I think you had the right idea, no need to worry too much, it is
rather like pool.
You can do all of the work you need to do in any command line
environment, that is opening up a virtual terminal (ctrl+alt+1 or 2
etc), or in a terminal window, like the ones you use in KDE, xterm,
aterm, eterm
Hi,
use fdisk from windows. and remove the partition and reformat the drive and
recreate the drive. This helped me. Just formating will not help.

Maybe your PnP is ON. Turn OFF PnP in BIOS and install again (boot itself

3. isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf
4. modprobe hisax ...etc.
I can recall there is a sort of init file where the modprobe statement
