[newbie] fluxbox under MDK 10 CE -- Edit Menus

Can anyone reccomend a menu editor for fluxbox menus ? I have tried doing it by hand, but then that completly screws up the menus. Should I rather edit the /home/user/.fluxbox menu file or the /usr/share/fluxbox menu file ? And is it better to rather do it by hand, or to rather find a tool,
